After protesters got within a few feet of President Trump at a D.C. restaurant last month, his team was so alarmed it had a tense talk with Secret Service officials about Trump's security, Axios has learned.

Trump rarely makes such unannounced appearances in D.C., but top advisers say the Sept. 9 incident at Joe's, a seafood restaurant near the White House, has made surprise pop-ins by Trump much less likely.

That video is hair-raising. Those protesters were unmolested for more than a minute. What if they had pistols, or even knives?

Restaurant worker tipped code pink and they made reservations.
I imagine that would be a bad business decision to keep idiots that close to food let alone the President of the United States.

Not only that, but it was disturbing to watch how gently they led the leftwing loon away. She should have been hauled off aggressively because of the danger she presented to the president.

They should be concerned. Someone in their ranks helped set it up.

I remember when he used to go to his own hotel restaurant in the Old Post Office building during his last admin. I guess his staff didn’t want to lose their jobs by snitching.

He deacquistioned ownership of the place after he left the White House in 2021. It was exciting to go there and see various admin people strolling around.

There are ways to smoke out people who breach security protocols, including NOT TIPPING OFF ENEMIES. Perhaps Trump’s people will consider employing some.

The USSS is compromised. Time for private security contractors.

It’s obvious he’s got people in his security detail that are democrats.

I agree. I love the Old Post Office. I was happy when the Trump Hotel opened there. We ate there a few times.

We TRULY enjoyed our stay and dinners/tea/breakfast at Trump’s DC Hotel in the PO Building.

Top notch, no detail ever overlooked.

We visited with Kevin McCarthy, Newt, Greta VanSusteren and saw many others that we recognized.

Love how you could order a rasher of bacon and it came to the table with several slices hanging over a little rack. Flowers were beautiful— sprays of orchids hanging over the tables. Gigantic charcuterie board in the lobby. Little side nooks with interesting displays under glass And the sense of space with the restaurant tables on balconies under that vast high ceiling—like being on an elevated platform in a very posh, elegant airplane hangar. I understand Ivanka was the creative director. Great job! That family is so talented.

It seemed to take the Secret Service too long to move the protestors out the door.

Great description!

It was like sitting up in the catbird’s seat!

We were there around Christmastime ... and, the YUGE, beautiful tree was spectacular, in the middle of the lobby.

Oh, wow, Christmas decor—that must have been great!

The thing that he has, that plows through every situation to turn it to beauty, is a very powerfully loving heart. He loves a challenge, he loves his work, he loves people, he loves his country, etc etc. It just flows out of him.
