For people who never lived in the tri-state, Curtis Sliwa is kind of a wackadoo. Which is okay for radio host, but he would never be able to be an effective mayor. Whatever happened to Ron Kuby?

He wouldn’t do better than Adams. Also, Sliwa is not a Republican, he just switched his registration to run for office. Cuomo is terrible, and Mamdani is beyond terrible. Crime could jump under Sliwa, because he is so nonfunctional. I don’t think you know how much of a wackadoo he is - including a faked kidnapping in 1983, which he admitted to. He is okay at some things, but who knows what he would do, and he’s never getting elected.

If you read his actual history, he’s crazy. Which is okay in a radio host. Not so much mayor. I doubt he would last all four years.

I have to give the guy credit. He’s a high school dropout with no discernible skills who somehow managed to make a career as a professional grifter.

He might be the perfect personification of the quintessential New York clown — sort of like a Republican version of Woody Allen.

Why does everyone assume that if he drops out Cuomo would win? He got beat by Mamdani already.

What if Sliwa voters stay home? What if they vote Mamdani? Cuomo is a proven loser. Murdering sex abuser as Gov.

We don’t assume it; but Sliwa has no chance at all. A lot can happen in two weeks, and at least Cuomo is a lot closer to winning than Sliwa is or will be.
