Trump's meeting with Putin in Hungary is called off 'after bad phone call between US and Russian negotiators'

Donald Trump will no longer meet Vladimir Putin in Hungary after a phone call between US and Russian negotiators reportedly turned sour.
The decision to call it off was made following discussions between US secretary of state Marco Rubio and Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov.
It is understood that the conversation did not go well - with Lavrov telling Rubio that Russia would not accept freezing the current front line in Ukraine.
'An additional in-person meeting between the secretary and foreign minister is not necessary, and there are no plans for President Trump to meet with President Putin in the immediate future,' a Trump administration official said.
The official, who wished to remain anonymous, nonetheless labelled the call between Rubio and Lavrov as 'productive.'
The Kremlin also said on Tuesday there was no 'precise timeframe' for a summit between Trump and Putin.
The back-and-forth over Trump's plans for a preparatory peace summit is the latest delay in his efforts to resolve the war that has persisted for nearly four years.
Eight European leaders, including Sir Keir Starmer, as well as senior European Union officials said in a joint statement they intend to go ahead with plans to use Moscow's billions of dollars of frozen assets abroad to help Kyiv win the war, despite some misgivings about the legality and consequences of such a step.
Zelensky noted that Putin had returned to diplomacy and called Trump last week when facing the possibility that the US would supply Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles.
But 'as soon as the pressure eased a little, the Russians began to try to drop diplomacy, postpone the dialogue', Zelensky said on Tuesday in a Telegram post.
'We need to end this war, and only pressure will lead to peace,' he said.

Seems like Trump just may go through his whole term telling Putin to surrender and Putin refusing to do so. Putin did ‘surrender’ in 2014, so he’s not too hot to repeat that mistake.

Fight to the last Ukie Male.
Russia is now losing 5 men to every Ukrainian casualty. 5 losses to to 1 is not a winning strategy.
Russia, if it survives the war, will have to import men from all over the world, to take care of the overabundance of women. No men, plenty of women.
After the war, Ukrainian men may end up with 5 women each, all from Russia.

Trump knows that there is no way for Russia to win the war, and that Ukraine is doing quite well, in the battlefield and in destroying the Russian oil infrastructure. No oil, no way to fund the war, and the Russians in the field of battle will either have to surrender or die from the cold, or as battle-field casualties.
Putin cannot admit that he's been defeated, so he will sacrifice all his military men and equipment before he's brought down from within Russia.

Trump always insists the war would never have started under him. Which is kind of ironic because it’s only under Trump that Putin’s got free reign. If Putin knew what he knows now he would have attacked during Trump’s FIRST term.

If it were costing him 50 men to each of Ukraine's he would keep at it as long as in his mind he could expend all of Ukraine's men before his own.

No one is asking Putin to surrender, just to go home.

If that’s the case, buy a Geiger Counter, considering the public statements from everyone who could bring down Putin.

I beg to differ, with all due respect. Clean up is always more costly than prevention. Look at the near civil war we’re at because the dems let in millions of illegals and dealing with that after the fact is so dang ugly.

Putin could easily be brought down by Ukraine, who are apparently very good at targeting important and precious Russian military facilities. But Zelensky is not targeting Putin directly. Zelensky is diligently taking out all of the resources which power the Russian military, including all the weapons and the Russia oil infrastructure. No means of conducting war, no way for Russia co win.
I'll say it again. Putin is done, but he can't admit defeat.

50 to 1 is unrealistic. 5 to 1 is what the real numbers indicate, and even that is unsustainable for Russia. 5 losses to 1 means that, there is absolutely no way for Russia to win.
But, yeah, Putin is a psychopath, and will sacrifice all others before he's out of bodies to throw at the fight.

I guess you’re unable to process my posting, so I’ll give you another chance:
EVERY leader can be brought down, obviously - the question is whether people have ANY CLUE as to who the potential replacements are. Obviously, some people, driven by MSNBC, I guess, are unwilling to assess these people.
