Democrat Rep. Madeleine Dean Fumes as President Trump Uses Unspent Funds to Pay Troops During Democrat Shutdown

Democrat Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) lashed out after President Donald Trump announced that he would use unspent research and development (R&D) funds to pay U.S. troops amid the ongoing Democrat-caused government shutdown.

During a CNN interview with John Berman, Rep. Dean is fuming that President Trump is keeping our brave troops paid during the Democrat-led shutdown.

John Berman: “How do you feel about these paychecks going out during the shutdown? I don’t think anyone’s opposed to people being paid, but people look at this and say this could actually extend the shutdown because it takes out some of the pressure points…”

Rep. Madeleine Dean: “Of course I want our military paid. Of course I want federal law enforcement officers to be paid. There’s a way to do that. I’m an appropriator. We should have passed appropriations bills. There’s a way to run a government, and this is not the way to run a government.”

Trump should do this with the new tariff money - use it to pay troops and federal LEOs.

Great idea. Trump should announce he will partially fund the government with tariffs. Only the parts he likes.

“We should have passed appropriations bills”
-
Those bills would have never been passed and it would have been done deliberately.....all democrats know how to do is inflict pain on the American people.
-
Once again President Trump has out manuvered the left and they can’t stand it.
-
Of course I’m sure rand paul has his panties in a knot about using this unspent money....he’ll run to the cameras and microphones just to get attention.

I like paying the troops and federal LEOs.

Let the Democrats sue to STOP the military and law enforcement from being paid. Not a good look for them!

The Senate rules need to be changed. After 2 weeks of a shutdown, no filibuster on a spending bill.

‘I don’t think anyone’s opposed to people being paid, but people look at this and say this could actually extend the shutdown because it takes out some of the pressure...’

Sounds familiar:

“Vice President Gore has written, in Earth in the Balance, that journalists should downplay scientific findings of ecological improvement because good news may dilute the public sense of anxiety.”96

Is Congress going to be paid?
Speaking of “ pressure points” being the pain of people not being paid

“Never let a crisis go to waste.”

I remember the ‘feel the pain’ of one gov’t shutdown had them closing off open spaces - a WW2 memorial and perhaps even the Vietnam Memorial - just to make the common folk feel discomfort.

Trump finds a way around it to pay the troops and LEOs I think Dems would cave.

What this “journalist “ didn’t ask: How come the politicians are getting paid but not the military?

The only thing extending the shutdown is the intransigence of the Democrat Socialist Senate Caucus. Put the blame where it lies.

Some things are too important to be left to political dialogue.

Let The People get used to a govt that runs on External Revenue and see how efficient it can be. I think it’s called “social pushing” and I hope it works.

Do you think congress hasn’t made provisions for themselves for times like this?

If anything, the filibuster should be expanded. Not weakened. Strengthened.

Conservatives are not interested in easing the function of government. Conservatives are interested in reducing the influence of government on life. The more obstructions one can place in front of government, the better.

Tell the states that if they would only pay back the unspent Covid funds they stole the Feds could pay the troops.

Headline is a lie. There is no lashing out and no one is “fuming.” I hate the media but probably don’t hate them enough.

“John Berman: “How do you feel about these paychecks going out during the shutdown? I don’t think anyone’s opposed to people being paid, but people look at this and say this could actually extend the shutdown because it takes out some of the pressure points…””

translations of scumbag’sleading “question”: “no one opposes people being paid, but you really DO oppose people being paid when it’s antithetical to your party’s obstructive and harmful behavior, right?”
