What do you get if you back an Islamic terrorist group that launches a regional war?
If you’re Qatar, you get Article V protection, normally allotted only to NATO allies, that declares the United States has to respond to any attack on the Islamic terror state which harbored the mastermind of 9/11.
On top of that Qatar, a tiny slave state with a small military, gets to sign a high-profile agreement to have its pilots trained on a US Air Force base right here.
Turkey, fresh off putting its Al Qaeda terrorist in charge of Syria, just signed a nuclear cooperation agreement with the United States. Considering its role in Islamic terrorism, that doesn’t seem as if it will end well either.
The timing of these obvious payoffs connects it to the Hamas ‘peace deal’ that the Islamic terror group is already violating.
Hamas has made it clear that it will not disarm. As I predicted, it’s rebranding its terrorists as ‘police officers’ and beginning a purge of anyone in Gaza it accuses of cooperating with Israel.
200 US troops are on the way to the region. Reportedly they’ll be ‘monitoring’ the ceasefire from inside Israel without entering Gaza. But either way, we’re getting more and more involved, and providing military benefits to Islamic terrorist states for getting the terrorists to sign on the dotted line of a ceasefire they keep saying they won’t abide by.
Hamas keeps insisting that it will go on to fight and destroy Israel. If so, what is all this even for? And why are we providing benefits to Qatar which promised it could get us a deal in exchange for everything it’s getting before Hamas even...

Oh dry up ! Geez.
Nice dodge JD. Would not want to talk about that either.
if dumbnuts here wants to run foreign policy, he can get elected president. Right now he’s just biting ankles like a rabid flea
There are no “deals” with Hamas. There is only imagination.
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Now what?
FDR knew the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbor but let it happen because it was the excuse he needed to enter the war. Now what?
We shouldn’t be too involved in this. It’s a mess but at the same time it’s none of our business.
We conservatives know the so called peace is an illusion. Trump knows it too. It was the only way to get the remaining hostages out and when the palis start the BS back up again he and Bibi will be able to tell the world we really tried. They can say that the day before they turn gaza into an ashtray.
It already is an ashtray.
Well they are also building a Trump branded golf resort and bought a lot of his cryptocurrency, so that may have played in. Or maybe he thought making a rash deal would get him the nobel peace prize
Wouldn’t have meant that we went to War with Germany, but Hoirler decided he wanted to get his assed kicked by us.
This seems like a pretty standard hostage swap and ceasefire. 2,000 terrorists for a few dozen Israelis. Probably some cash from Qatar, too. Israel has gotten that deal before to no long term effect. I’m not sure why President Trump is doing victory laps over it. Time will tell.
I thought it was the Germans that attacked Pearl harbor.😏
Trump’s (Kushner’s) Foreign policy has the long range goal of changing behavior of leaders of other states. So far the agreements of 2016 have worked. The odds are that the current agreements will move the world in the correct direction.
But the odds are 70-30, not 100-0. There is a chance that the situation will revert to a prior, less desireable status. But the 70-30 odds make it worth taking the risk.
Of course, some believe that blessed is the peacemaker and that should be what we strive for, regardless of the odds.
no, no, no, those were Mussolini’s planes!
That’s right Bluto, and we didn’t give up.
