Thousands of anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian protesters marched in central London on Saturday, despite the announcement of a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal aimed at ending the war in the Strip.
Demonstrators held signs with the slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” seen by many as a call for Israel’s destruction, and a placard comparing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
The crowd chanted “Israel is a terror state” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” while marching to Whitehall, where many British government buildings are clustered.
Ben Jamal, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) group organizing the protest, said that the ceasefire announced earlier this week had no bearing on the demonstration.
"We know Israel is capable of breaking the ceasefire at any time, as it has done on every previous occasion,” Jamal claimed in a statement. “And we know this ceasefire based on [Donald] Trump’s plan does nothing to address the root causes of Israeli occupation and colonization of Palestine, and its system of apartheid against Palestinians.”
A group of counterprotesters waving Israeli flags blared loud music as the main demonstration marched toward Whitehall.

The so called peace agreement is an illusion and most people know it. The terrorists Israel released will be killing more people before the end of the month. Only one way this ends.
They feel they won round one (they got Israeli troops out of Gaza), they’re emboldened now for round 2.
It's a ceasefire but Israel is willing to agree to it as long as they get their hostages back. But like you said, it's only a matter of time before they fight again.
Oops, he actually meant Hamas. Has Hamas ever kept a single agreement?

It’s a bad deal, by Israel agreed to it.
Of course not. It's genocide against the Jews they are seeking, and a ceasefire is the worst thing that could happen for them. Expect more terror attacks by the pro-genocide faction to try to stir up violence and force an Israeli response to keep some kind of fighting going so they can keep their sick campaign alive.
You could argue that Trump may have saved Netanyahu politically.
Israel is getting bad press for their war in Gaza.
You can argue that Hamas will eventually rebuild but at the same time Israel is going to take their security much more seriously.
They were quite lax on October 7th.
From the river to the sea,
Gaza will be Hamas free.
Get the hostages back, wait until Hamas breaks the peace (inevitable), finish them off.
