The Libyan National Army has offered to work with the UK to detain and deport illegal immigrants before they reach the Channel.
Military chiefs in Benghazi have told The Telegraph they are keen to do more to stop their country being used as a key transit route for asylum seekers and economic migrants from sub-Saharan Africa, who use Libyan beaches as a departure point for crossing the Mediterranean.
However, they say their efforts to stop the flow of people through North Africa to the EU and UK are being hampered by long-standing UN sanctions, limiting access to the most effective search and rescue and surveillance equipment.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Maj Gen Khaled Al-Sreir, the deputy head of the department for combating illegal immigration, said: “We want to cooperate with the UK. Libya is the place where your crisis starts – we are the first point of contact.
“We are also the ones who are trying to stop the problem, with almost no international help. We don’t need money – what we need is an exchange of experiences and scenarios.”
He also warned that there was growing awareness among impoverished Africans of the “attractive” lifestyle they can expect if they make it to Britain, which was encouraging opportunists to pour into his country.
He said: “We are not the destination. The people coming through Libya dream of crossing the ocean, to your country, and other parts of Europe. We have been following what’s going on in the UK lately, and are fully aware of how angry people are.
“Yet countries like the UK are effectively advertising themselves as an attractive destination.

IN other words, we want the deal that Ghaddafi had with Europe to hold back to flow of African illegals from overwhelming Europe. The deal the Europeans blew up when they assisted in killing Ghaddafi.

I hate to break it to the people at The Telegraph, but your country, the United Kingdom where your rag is headquartered, is actually inviting and encouraging illegal immigration. Not engineers and scientists but the actual dregs of humanity, demanding services and choking up ‘the dole’, assaulting and murdering your people. Only some sort of mass societal upheaval will remedy the situation, it’s that friggen bad.
