President Donald Trump is inching closer to delivering on his 20-point proposal to end the war in Gaza, as he announced on Saturday that Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line to facilitate a hostage release.
Trump detailed Israel’s cooperation in a post on Truth Social, saying it has been shared with Hamas.
“After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas,” the U.S. president posted.
“When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE,” he added. “Thank you for your attention to this matter and, STAY TUNED!”
Trump’s post included a photo illustrating where the initial withdrawal line would be in relation to major cities like Rafah and Gaza City, as well as the Palestinian refugee camp Bureij.
If agreed to, Israeli forces will withdraw all troops to this line, and all military operations including aerial and artillery bombardment will be suspended.
Trump has given Hamas a deadline of 6 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday to agree to the deal.
The initial withdrawal line is just one part of the Trump administration’s 20-point proposal to end the conflict, which starts with declaring Gaza a “deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.”
It remains to be seen whether Hamas will agree to the deal, as reports from Saudi outlets indicate that officials are prepared to “not reject the plan entirely.”
Reports also suggest that Hamas leadership may accept it in part, and propose additional amendments.

How many peace conference diplomatic withdrawals and land for peace concessions has Israel made since 1948?
A lot.
And they have to fight again because the bad guys violate the agreements and cross those lines to hit Israel or send a child with a bomb backpack into a cafe to kill them.
Leaving Hamas alive and in the territory guarantees the next war.

This one will crumble too. The world just cannot admit the truth. This will not really end until Israel grinds these people into dust.
I’ll bet neither Trump nor Netanyahu expect hamas to come through.
I’ll bet they’re just giving hamas enough rope to hang themselves.
Relocation of UN HQ to Gaza City is the only option. Want to see a peace treaty in a week, take the diplomats out of the safe spaces and put them in with the people they support.
It will not end until one side is completely wiped off the map and we know who that’s gonna be.

Mr. President, while I admire you greatly, trusting the word of these terrorists is naive at best given their past actions plus they still have Israeli hostages.
The proposed deal seems to me to be something the Qataris might have cooked up.
HAMAS probably doesn’t have all the hostages.
My proposal:
For each live hostage returned, Israel returns 30 people of its choice from the criminal list and 400 people of its choice from the non-criminal list.
For each hostage not returned alive by Friday 4pm EST, the remaining non-criminal prisoners will spend ten days in prison on average before release, but all shall be released within the number of months equal to the number of hostages not returned alive plus one.
For each dead hostage, Israel returns 10 people of its choice from the non-criminal list.
Israel will release one-by-one its choice of each remaining criminal at a rate equal to 120 hours times 48 divided by the number returned alive by Friday 4pm EST.
For individual release, Israel shall have one full government business day for processing and for a group release two full government business days.
Release to be at a Gaza/Israel crossing point.

There should be an incentive to return live hostages.
Otherwise, some might get shot dead and tossed onto a street.
No, we, HAMAS, didn’t shoot them. Absolutely, positively not. It had to be other people. We have no clue who did it.

“Oh, we really do want to release all of the hostages, but we just can’t get our hands on them that quickly. You see there was no way we could have possibly known that you would actually want us to release all of the hostages. If only you’d given us a little lead time, we could have had them ready to go.”
Agreed. This is a very bad idea. President Trump needs to stay out of the way and let Israel finish the job. Nothing short of the total eradication of Hamas will suffice, and their victory over Hamas is so close.
