Pole Chandrashekar, 27, a student from LB Nagar area of Hyderabad, was shot dead Friday night while working at a fuel station in Denton, Texas. Chandrashekar’s family received the news on Saturday afternoon. Chandrashekar was on an F1 visa in the US. “He completed his Master’s degree in dental surgery in the US and was looking for a job for the past six months. He was working at the gas station part-time,” his brother Damodar said.

“Our father passed away four years ago. Our mother is heartbroken that she has now lost my brother,” said Damodar.

A family friend, Shivakumar, said that the body was identified because the gas station manager had Chandrashekar’s passport. “When the authorities from the US called, the family went into shock,” Shivakumar said. “If the Ministry of External Affairs helps bring his body back home, we will be grateful.”

Here come the anecdotes! Country of 1.4 billion people, hell bent on overrunning the USA, should be easy to find a dozen or two tearjerking anecdotes that the presstitutes can pretend represent the majority of the invading army ants...

“ Why did Indian gas station owner have passport?”

My guess is to show documentation in case he gets questioned by ICE.

While of course condemning the killing, one question: what was the legal basis for this young man on an F1 visa to remain in the USA after his studies concluded and to work at a gas station? There’s an OPT extension but there is no indication of that and would not apply to working outside his academic field

None. Most likely he was working illegally and getting paid in cash.

He completed his degree in dental surgery but was working at a gas station?! Something off there...

RIP. Probably just a random robbery and shooting.... by youths.

“Some news sources” report the suspect was dark skinned. Source google A

And I’d guess wasn’t Indian.

I don't see where it says that the gas station owner was Indian.

The story says that he was a "Dalit" meaning untouchable. Over 200 million people in India, one-seventh of the population, belongs to this category.

“He completed his Master’s degree in dental surgery in the US and was looking for a job for the past six months. He was working at the gas station part-time,” his brother Damodar said.

An F-1 (student) visa holder has a 60-day grace period to get back home after they complete their studies. At 6-months past graduation, Chandrashekar was overstaying by a factor of 3.

It's horrible that Chandrashekar was murdered, the perp should face the death penalty. But Chandrashekar should have left the US 4 months ago in a seat in the passenger deck of the plane, not in a coffin in the cargo hold.

“Why did Indian gas station owner have passport?”

I am going to guess that the owner did not have his physical passport, but as an employer had a copy of it on file. Which would be a legal requirement to hire and employ a LEGAL alien. I think whoever wrote this didn’t word it right. Investigators were able to identify him on the scene because the owner had a copy of his passport handy on file there.

27 is a “Youth”?

This young man had real experience in the USA.

No wonder he wanted to stay here.

Searched;

Denton tx gas station murder.

Didn’t find this story. Did find where 2 of the usual suspects murdered a Hispanic guy at a gas station.

Live in the area and had not heard this story, thought I’d check it out.

“He completed his Master’s degree in dental surgery in the US and was looking for a job for the past six months.”

F-1 requirements: “Foreign students in the United States with F visas must depart the United States within 60 days after the program end date listed on Form I-20, including any authorized practical training.”

Working in a gas station isn’t one of the approved off campus jobs. https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/students-and-exchange-visitors/students-and-employment “any off-campus training employment must be related to their area of study “

DHS and State need to explain why he was still here legally.
