WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. — An Indiana man convicted in the death of a 6-year-old Kentucky boy is now out of prison on parole.
Ronald Exantus was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2018, but was released early on good behavior and education credits.
He broke into the Versailles home of Logan Tipton in December 2015, fatally stabbed the boy and attacked the little boy's father and sisters.
He was found not guilty by reason of insanity for murder, but a jury found him guilty but mentally ill on assault charges.
Tipton's family also survived the attack and his father says after that night he also lost the will to live.
"I laid in bed. I gave up. I gave up on life. I gave up on my family. I gave up on everybody. I just wanted to die," said Logan's father Dean Tipton.
Exantus will remain under probation and parole supervision until his sentence ends next year.
He will serve his mandatory re-entry supervision in Florida.

Did his insanity conveniently go away?
That headline is horrible. I had to wonder, why was a six year old boy in prison?
Apparently so because he got “education credits.”
Hopefully friends of the family will take care of this.
“...not guilty by reason of insanity...”
-
And so, after 6 years, he is now sane,
and can be released into the public?
Two words: Second Amendment
It goes without saying now that the entire ‘criminal justice system’ is completely broken e.g. corrupt to the core.
The boy’s father has already said that if he ever sees that man out in public, he’s a goner.
Photo....
Looks like Spike Lee.
But his father was Bill Lee, musician, who was the bass player for “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” and others on Bob Dylan’s Bringing It All Back Home. Also many jazz albums. Died at age 94.
There should be a prison for judges and rapists only.
Supersonic lead delivered at distance on his first step out of prison OR he stays with parole board family for one year.
Be a shame if he mysteriously “disappeared.”
He served just 5 of 20 years?
Like....got a lift to the train station.
So educational credits cured his insanity? And how does good behavior in prison relate to this no longer present insanity?
It is prudent to always remember that we do not have a justice system, we have a legal system. Ain’t the same thing folks.
People should know that
he’s on the streets again
