The Food and Drug Administration approved a new generic version of a pill used to terminate pregnancies, a decision that comes as the Department of Health and Human Services reviews the drug’s safety.
The FDA authorized a generic form of mifepristone, a 200-milligram oral tablet, on Tuesday from Evita Solutions, according to a letter posted on the agency’s website. Medication abortion is the most common form of abortion in the U.S. and has faced heightened scrutiny from antiabortion groups and lawmakers who have sought to limit its use.

This is also the go too pill for women who just had a miscarriage and must pass the pregnancy remains. The only other choice is hospitalization and a surgical D&C with not small risks to the uterus and mother’s life. These pills are always used first for under 15 week miscarriages before risking surgery. Having cheaper generic choices helps couples struggling with fertility too. Every miscarriage is a possibly for thousands and thousands in hospital and surgery bills vs a $10 round of pills it’s an absolute no brainer to use the pills first after a loss of pregnancy. The fact that the same pills can cause a loss of pregnancy is irrelevant in these cases. Humans have free will, every technology can be used for good or evil. Nobel invented dynamitewhich can be used to literally move mountains and bring life giving water via aquaducts or it can be used to cause the largest school massacre in U.S. history. The dynamite is not the issue or to blame it is merely a tool in human hands.
If you don’t like abortion change the woman’s mind about it, offer her an alternative that she benefits from and chooses to take.
You know, if Trump endorsed and encouraged liberal women to take them, we’d have a mini baby boom.
