The school district superintendent arrested by ICE this week lied about attending MIT and was the subject of two sex discrimination lawsuits, The Post has learned.
Snappy-dresser Ian Andre Roberts, 51, was fired by Des Moines Public Schools after it emerged he was working illegally and had been avoiding a deportation order.
Roberts spent over twenty years bouncing around the nation’s education system, holding top posts from coast-to-coast, but also proved controversial.
“He ruined our district for three years,” a former colleague in the state told The Post. “He was very smooth, affable, but the overarching feeling you got from him was smoke and mirrors, mystique.”
He is also rumored to have been caught having sex with a female coworker on school property at his previous role as a superintendent in rural Pennsylvania, a post he held from 2020 to 2023.
Former colleagues claimed to The Post Roberts was a sketchy figure and pathological liar. They said they felt he was hired because of his Diversity, Equity and Inclusion bona fides — and claimed once on the job he did little work.
“He was a player. He liked the women,” a source who knew Roberts, who asked not to be named, told The Post.
Another source expressed concern to the school board in Pennsylvania Roberts might not be a legal resident based on casual comments he had made — but their concern was ignored, they said.
Reports indicate Roberts has not been legally allowed to work in the US since at least 2020, when his employment authorization expired.

He also faked his academic credentials. He fled from authorities and had a gun and $3,000 cash on him as part of his apparent exit plan. He was located by a police dog.
The loaded weapon he had on him is part of an ATF investigation as his possessing it = felony.

Everyone on that school board should resign, be fired or voted out for a complete and utter failure to perform due diligence in hiring this phony.
Federal charges now over the gun:
A now-former school superintendent who was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents has been charged by federal prosecutors in Iowa with one count of being an “illegal alien in possession of firearms,” according to court records.
Former Des Moines Public School Superintendent Ian Roberts was charged by complaint on Wednesday, according to the case docket.
And yet the local NAACP is supporting him, in spite of the fact that he took a job that an American, black, white or whatever should have had.
One benefit of all this, is that it may well have destroyed the Senate aspirations of Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff. If it doesn’t, then that’s on Iowa voters.

One firearm, the one found under the driver’s seat of his school-issued vehicle when he was arrested, was a pistol believed to have been purchased by Roberts’ wife, authorities said. The other three — a pistol, a rifle and a shotgun — were found during a search of Roberts’ home, the complaint said, and all were allegedly loaded.

Likely he’ll be allowed to leave the country and charges will be dropped. That happens every day.
DEI is a mental disease.
My guess is he’ll be quietly deported and allowed to keep some walking-around money.
