The similarities among the United States and Israel include their shared Manifest Destiny.
One appears historical, the other current. In reality, they are conjoint and continuous, because the basis of their action is reason and progress.
Manifest means self-evident and clear. Destiny means fated and inevitable, often in the context of a divine calling, and destined by God to create a dominion, and spread a particular belief and culture.
That faith and culture in the United States was a manifestation of modernization based on human progress. The country began as a small, isolated settlement, just as Israel began, but it moved westward through Chicago, then the frontier, and finally to the Pacific.
The U.S. braved continuous resistance, violence and controversy over its expansion, domestically, and by superior foreign powers.
Israel’s westward expansion is in many ways a fascinating similar phenomenon. The Mediterranean is its Pacific.
President Trump’s peace and economic development plan will likely be rejected by Hamas and its allies, now or later. Their resistance is telling because it demonstrates what the dividing line is defined by: modernization and technical growth, versus stagnation and failure.
The U.S.-Israel plan is also a manifestation of Western optimism, and a particular behavioral code that is responsible for the entire basis of modern industrial and economic life. It comes from a state of mind that can perceive science and technology as a manifestation of human capacity. Unlike other fundamentalist beliefs, its view of man’s purpose is rooted in progress.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is right that a two-state solution is impossible. But it is impossible because Israel’s foes are not merely determined to reject Israel as a state, but because that state embodies a larger modernism.
If you have any doubts, consider the impossibility of fundamentalism existing side-by-side in the U.S. Recent...

They asked Dr. Billy Graham about Israel back in the 1970’s and the story in the newspaper quoted the famous evangelist saying Israel would one day stretch all the way to the Euphrates River in the middle of Iraq.
We shall see since war with Iran is virtually inevitable the talk about a Gaza deal distracting.
Hope you wore your high top wader snake boots. The bullshit is getting deep.
For pragmatic reasons, Israel has abandoned some it's socialist roots, but it essentially a left of center Euro-zone type nation.
Okay fine, whatever. As long as we aren’t paying for it.
America practiced ethnic relocation in our Manifest Destiny. If it works…
The conservatives in Israel are just as conservative as us. If Israel is a left of center Euro-zone type nation, is the US a leftist transgender American nation?
Both Smith and Marx share an underlying fundamental premise: at a large scale, human activity is governed by laws not visible in the intentions of individual agents. For example, the “invisible hand” for Smith and class conflict and “dialectical materialism” for Marxism.
We are currently working on fixing that.
However, don't shoot the messenger, I am sorry but Israel IS much closer to a Euro-zone state.

- Psalm 132:13–14
“For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: ‘This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.’”
This article doesn’t provide an accurate comparison between our expansion & Israel’s. The similarities don’t exist. The West Bank is land locked and Israel already controls access to that side of the Mediterranean.
If Israel doesn’t want Arabs in the Judea & Samaria Region, then move them out with an ethnic cleansing operation.
Just don’t compare it to how your “Sugar Daddy” built his nation, because this current occupier of “Iroquois Territory” doesn’t know what you’re talking about.
