US to provide Ukraine with intelligence for long-range strikes in Russia, WSJ reports

The United States will provide Ukraine with intelligence for long-range missile strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure, the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, as it weighs whether to send Kyiv weapons that could put more targets within range.

The United States has long been sharing intelligence with Kyiv but Wednesday's report said the new development will make it easier for Ukraine to hit refineries, pipelines, power stations and other infrastructure with the aim of depriving the Kremlin of revenue and oil.

According to U.S. officials cited by the Wall Street Journal, approval on additional intelligence came shortly before President Donald Trump posted on social media last week suggesting that Ukraine could retake all its land occupied by Russia, in a striking rhetorical shift in Kyiv's favor.

"After seeing the Economic trouble (the war) is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form," Trump wrote on Truth Social last Tuesday, shortly after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Vice President JD Vance said on Sunday that Washington was considering a Ukrainian request to obtain Tomahawks.

So much for being the peace president.

Trump finally realized that there will be no peace until Putin is removed from power. This is how to do that.

“Blessed are the peacemakers” is a phrase from the Bible, specifically Matthew 5:9, which means that those who actively seek to create peace and resolve conflicts will be recognized as children of God.

"This is how to do that."

Oh yeah, let's keep the dictator Zelensky in power so he can continue to sign those 90 day martial law extensions so the people of Ukraine can't vote. Next up...his 16th extension.

Reuters reports that Wall Street Journal reports that ....."

And yet, "Neither the White House nor Ukraine nor Russia's missions to the United Nations immediately responded to separate requests for comment from Reuters on Wednesday."

So, anonymous gossip.

Why in the world is the US helping Ukraine bomb Russia? Wouldn’t that give Russia an excuse to bomb the US?

That would be nice but it's quite unrealistic.

Trump has just recognized that more pressure needs to be applied to Russia.

The problem is, Putin also needs a "golden path" out so he can declare victory.

The other problem now is that Putin seems to think he can intimidate the Europeans into not supporting Ukraine with the recent provocations. That seems to be backfiring, with the French seizing a "shadow fleet" tanker and the Polish prime minister now calling this "our war." With Putin escalation and the Europeans more feisty the threat of things getting out of hand is also rising.

Trump should frame some concrete settlement not especially desirable to either side but sufficient to give Putin a "golden path" and Ukraine realistic security.

Russia would never dare to attack the US. They cannot even defeat Ukraine; what chance would they have against the US and the combined NATO forces?

If Putin leaves, men who are more hard-core than he is are waiting in the wings.

Meh. The usual Russian bluster like when Gromyko threatened to turn all of Italy into another Pompeii if they accepted US missiles in the 80s.

They accepted them.

We have enough warheads to roast every Russian goose from Pskov to Vladivostok, which they know.

The WSJ has never, ever been comfortable with the reality of money creation by central banks. So Russia’s central bank creating Rubles can’t be considered an economic reality by the WSJ.

President Trump most obviously wants to end this war. When Zelensky stood in the way, Trump and Vance publicly humiliated him and literally threw him out of the White House, and they cut off military aid.

Now Putin is standing in the way of peace, and Trump has concluded more active steps are needed to persuade Russia.

As for intelligence for long range strikes, it’s pretty obvious the US has been providing that for a long time.

I’ll support President Trump as he navigates this difficult situation.

Sounds like an act of war, to me. Freaking neocons, bending President Trump's ear.

Russia has more nukes than us, and they much more delivery systems. You forget China will join in on the fun, too.
