Boko Haram has killed 350,000 in Nigeria since 2009, most of them Christians.
Beyond that, there are real slaughters/genocides going on all over the world that are ignored. If you only care about Muslims, about 45,000 have been killed in Myanmar, and probably a similar amount of Uyghurs in China, although China keeps a tight lid on that. Over 1 million Uyghurs are imprisoned, including torture. And even some Freepers only care about what might done to some, if it's done by Jews.

The slaughter in Nigeria is being ignored because the killing is being done by Muslims ... and the western press and “progressive political parties” aren’t about to publicize anything that reflects badly on Islam.

Leftists are able to dismiss these murders without a second thought.
The problem with those dead people: 1) their murders are a protected class and 2) they themselves have no (political) value.
How it must be to die and for the media in the developed world to turn their backs.

If they could blame Trump somehow for these murders, they would. I am sure they considered it and concluded that the dead Africans had no value. It was off to dinner at that point. They had reservations, after all.

I follow this, no one mentions it. Including any major conservatives or Christians, so for Maher to carry the load. It's kind of sad, but bravo to him.
I haven’t seen any polls recently, but usually the countries Trump is most popular are in Africa. Since he first became President, Trump has always had a significantly higher approval rating in Nigeria, than he ever had in the U.S.
Being raised Catholic, perhaps Maher is actually alarmed.
Maher needs to have Candace Owens on asap. It would be very interesting.
My opinion is that Jews seem to have an outsized influence for their numbers and that too many Christians revere them to an extent like not a single Jew can have faults.

How many politicians in DC are Jewish compared to the percentage of the population?
Granted, they are smart and have remained so for decades. That means interbreeding, similar to the Rothchild name, which used to be a slightly different surname.
Does Israel have undue influence on our government? I have no idea but if every member of Congress has their own Jew/Israel lobbyist, it seems a bit much.
