Ukraine says Russia returns 1,000 bodies in latest exchange

Russia and Ukraine have exchanged the bodies of more than 1,000 soldiers who have fallen in battle, Ukrainian authorities have said.

The vast majority of the bodies were received by Ukraine from Russia, while the bodies of 24 Russian soldiers were handed over by Ukraine.

Earlier report from the BBC (June 11, 2025): The bodies of 1,212 Ukrainian soldiers have been returned from Russia, Kyiv says, as part of a prisoner exchange agreement between the warring countries.

In return Russia received 27 bodies, Moscow's chief negotiator Vladimir Medinsky said.

The prisoner exchange deal was the only tangible result of peace talks in Turkey last week, with both sides agreeing to hand over as many as 6,000 dead bodies each, as well as sick and heavily wounded prisoners of war, and those aged under 25.

Medinsky announced that Russia would begin exchanging "severely wounded prisoners" on Thursday.

Trying to get a handle on what's going on with the war is difficult so I looked up some body exchanges.

Earlier exchanges included 952 bodies exchanged in total, with Ukraine receiving 909 bodies and Russia receiving 43 bodies.

By the old Vietnam ‘body count’ scenario it looks like Ukraine is losing the war.

But Keith Kellogg is telling President Trump that Russia is taking far, far more casualties. So much better appointments in this term, but there are a few Scaramucci-level duds.

Only those with Russian Derangement Syndrome or that are paid to post propaganda online doesn't grasp that these numbers prove the causality rate is overwhelming in Russia's favor.

Propagandists can fabricate numbers. Only dead bodies and proof deaths provide evidence of causalities.

Ukraine’s 1,212 v Russia’s 27 is pretty lopsided.

By the old Vietnam ‘body count’ scenario, Russia is clearly losing MASSIVELY in Ukraine - according to Trump. He has the real numbers, explained here below:

It’s about one killed Ukrainian vs 10 killed Russians. It’s one of the worst “ratios” suffered by Russia in its entire history!
10 to 1.

Trump:
(Posted on Truth Social on August 01 - 2025)

“I have just been informed that almost 20,000 Russian soldiers died this month in the ridiculous War with Ukraine. Russia has lost 112,500 soldiers since the beginning of the year. That is a lot of unnecessary DEATH! Ukraine, however, has also suffered greatly. They have lost approximately 8,000 soldiers since January 1, 2025, and that number does not include their missing. Ukraine has also lost civilians, but in smaller numbers, as Russian rockets crash into Kyiv, and other Ukrainian locales. This is a War that should have never happened — This is Biden’s War, not “TRUMP’s.” I’m just here to see if I can stop it!”

I look forward to seeing that Russian body count from Ukraine in their next report. It will be quite the change from their last 4 reports.

Ukraine’s 1,212 v Russia’s 27 is pretty lopsided.

There's another aspect to this, too. Who is able, and willing, to collect, store, identify, organize and repatriate the dead bodies of their enemies?

A well organized, and well-supplied army, with many logistics troops behind the lines, and resources to spare. If a unit is undermanned, constantly retreating, short of supplies - they do not worry about the dead. Especially the enemy's

My Dad, who knew some German, made friends with some German POWs in his plant, who stayed in the USA after the war.

One became a family friend. I remember him saying when he was captured, he was astounded the American GI's at the front line would/could offer him packs of cigarettes, chocolate, canned meat, etc.... It was partially the generosity, but his other thought was "how are they able to get these luxuries to their soldiers at the front-lines? My family at home in Stuttgart can't even get this. Much less we soldiers in far away Africa who were practically starving."

--- "But Keith Kellogg...."

A small detail in the Kellogg family story, as his daughter there in Ukraine has a complaint:

"Keith Kellogg's daughter Megan Mobbs denied the information of the Ukrainian edition NV that the head of the presidential office, Andrei Ermak, during the recent visit of the special envoy of the US president to Kiev constantly accompanied him. "This article is completely inaccurate and fake — from beginning to end. Whoever the source from the OP (office of the President of Ukraine. — ), they lied and did not provide services to anyone. It's very sad to read this," writes X Mobbs on the social network, quoted by NV.

"Earlier, NV, citing sources in the president's office, reported that the special representative of the US President for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, Trump for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, was constantly accompanied by Ermak during his visit to Kiev, and the 81-year-old American guest himself could not hold many meetings due to his age, because he was very tired."

Source: Kellogg's daughter stated that on... Ukraine was slandered by Trump's special envoy EurasiaDaily, 18 July 2025.

Odd. NV in The New Voice of Ukraine, while Mobbs was on X, and the whole little thing reported on EAdaily.

Mobbs -- the name does not come up frequently in FR threads -- is Kellogg's daughter working in Ukraine. She stated the obvious:

"Earlier in June, Mobbs commented on another massive Russian attack on Ukrainian cities, expressing her 'strange feeling' that Russia 'does not want peace'."

Source: US Envoy Kellogg's Daughter Meaghan Mobbs: Russia's Drone Attack on Kyiv Is a Response to Trump's Deadline United24Media, 31 July 2025

"Strange," reports United24? Seems obvious, at this point.

Here is Mobbs, on the International Women's Forum "Center for American Safety & Security" --

Meaghan Mobbs with Julie Gunlock, re 15 September 2024 launch of her Center

Through the Kellogg family, we are and have been deep into Ukraine. I agree with your notion: " So much better appointments in this term, but there are a few Scaramucci-level duds."

One thing that is certain: The great “Russian Summer Offensive” was a complete fiasco.
In two and a half years, mighty Russia has only succeeded in taking 1% of extra territory in Ukraine.

While Ukraine... has managed to take back 54% of the land areas that Russia initially stole at the beginning of the war.

It’s impressive that “mighty” Russia, being 30 times bigger than Ukraine, having 40% of its national budget oriented towards war, getting tens of thousands Communist North Korean and Islamic Chechen troops as extra support, getting billions and billions of subsidies form Communist China, a flow of drones from the Islamic State of Iran.... Well.... DESPITE all that Russia is in a total quagmire in Ukraine. They are stuck in 3 Ukrainian oblasts and are only controlling about 65 - 70% of them... after +3 years of war !

The so called “Russian Summer Offensive! that was supposed to be a game changer for Russia... where is it? It’s dead.

In the mean time... Russia’s central bank has said Russia is now entering a recession... Russian can’t but potatoes anymore.
30% of Russia gas production has been destroyed by Ukraine.
Russians are forced to wait in endless lines for 10 hours to get a rationed 3 to 10 liters of gas... A nightmare, and the beginning of a nation failing.

Thus, 65% of the Russian’s are now demanding the end of the war. They can’t cope with the consequences anymore.

A sizeable fraction of Ukrainian bodies returned recently died while in Russian captivity. Since live prisoners are being exchanged in a “1000 for a 1000” formula, there is little incentive for the Russians to preserve an excess of prisoners, just as there is a large incentive for Ukraine to take as many prisoners as possible.

Propagandists can fabricate numbers. Only dead bodies and proof deaths provide evidence of causalities.

This has been obvious for years now. The leadership of NATO's Ukrainian puppet state, Neocons and Zeepers on this forum could not care less how many hapless Ukrainian men are killed in this horrible, idiotic and complete failure. This has been the culmination of a semi-transparent effort to foment regime change in Russia. NATO never could give a rat's behind about Ukrainians which their leadership has always considered to be the same as Russians. Let's not keep trying to kid ourselves.

Could it have been more obvious that the Joe “we won't do anything if it's a minor incursion” Biden was goading the Russians into aggressive action to kindle this conflict? You have to completely ignore the history of Ukraine since the breakup of the Soviet Union to not see what the end game has been since that time.

And I wouldn't have any problem with Europeanizing Russia if our European allies had not devolved into a bunch of corrupt Globo-Homo wienies who are still in the process of letting the Muslim hoards from 3rd world sh*t holes take over their countries. If these idiots ever get their act together, I might not object to the next effort to destabilize Russia. Look at what has happened to London in the last 30 years for God's sake.

One of the goals appears to be to kill off all the Ukrainian men who are mostly the same genetically as the Russians they lived side by side with for the last several hundred years... and then replace them with newly minted Muslims. Because I can guarantee if the Russians were to somehow walk away, that is exactly what would happen.

You are correct! Very well-stated.

The only thing that matters to war pigs like Lindsey, neocons and Zeepers is how many Russians die and holding out hope enough damage to Russia can be caused that results in a regime change, which will allow the globalist elite to sweep in and raid Russia of its natural resources.

In fact, the economies are crumbling in the EU and these countries getting their hands on Russian resources might be the only thing that can avoid economic collapse.

Russia has adjusted to Ukraine’s growing inability to defend fixed positions due to manpower shortages. That ability was very good until over time they lost too many soldiers, and their best built defensive lines are now behind the Russians. Russia is now working on decimating Ukraine’s army, to be followed by the taking of land after Ukraine loses the ability to cover the front, which is already happening.

Those numbers have no basis in reality whatsoever.

Trump was repeating that nonsense to placate neocons in the Senate and the EU.
