Jimmy Kimmel and Disney are working toward reaching a compromise that would allow “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to return to ABC.
The veteran host’s business and legal representatives are deep in discussions with Disney and ABC leaders in the hopes of finding a path to a compromise that would allow for the return of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” according to three people with knowledge of the situation.

Disney and Kimmel are probably working on an agreement on ending the contract and dollar amount to pay it off. Paramount should have done this Colbert.

He never made me laugh. Though I admit I never watched his show.

Roughly 240 ABC stations out there. If you polled them...maybe 40 of the metro areas are pro-Kimmel and can still find a local audience.
From the remainder...they probably want Kimmel replaced, or just delete the hour entirely, and let the local station find their own game-show to fill the hour.
Statistics I saw...from 2014 at the peak...Kimmel holds roughly one-quarter of the numbers today. If true....there’s zero profit for ABC, and likely the same for the stations.
Right. Disney made the tough call. ABC management should stand tall as a message to the gargoyles on The View who are about to blow. Let Kimmel disappear into pod cast obscurity. Nobody will miss him.
Oh of course Kimmel has his lawyers and agents looking at this. He is as gone as Colbert. A drain on the network. A liability.
That’s what I thought of Seth Meyer’s show when he got his own shoe after SNL. I never thought he was funny on SNL, but watched the first few shows to see if they could make it work. It sucked and I was flabbergasted on how this was approved. I gave it a half season before it was cancelled but somehow it’s STILL on.
Let him and Colbert do a podcast and suffer the fate of Michael Obama, Gavin Newsome, Don Lemon and Joy “AM Joy” Reid

While losing more audience and more money just to re-install a person who styles himself as a ‘comedian’, but is actually not funny at all.
