GOP Sen. Ted Cruz on Friday denounced Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr’s threats to pull ABC’s broadcast license as “unbelievably dangerous” and compared some of his rhetoric to “mafioso” tactics.
In an episode of his podcast, “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” released on Friday, the Texas Republican said he was “thrilled” Jimmy Kimmel was pulled off the air by ABC over his comments about conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. But he said he strongly disagreed with the government policing speech, asserting it could come back to bite conservatives when Democrats retake power.
“I hate what Jimmy Kimmel said. I am thrilled that he was fired,” Cruz said. “But let me tell you: If the government gets in the business of saying, ‘We don’t like what you, the media, have said. We’re going to ban you from the airwaves if you don’t say what we like,’ that will end up bad for conservatives.”

Ted seems to think that democrats are very very nice people and they have never tried to cancel conservatives on the airwaves before. I’m sure Tucker Carlson would love to have a talk with him about how fair the Democratic Party was to him.

Ted, the program and Mr Fallon were intentionally spreading a proven untrue story as factual news, which is a direct violation of their licence.

As a purist yes, the reality though is democrats will do it regardless, the already have censored countless conservatives.
Cruz need to wake up, the old world of comity and precident is gone, if democrats regain power they will go for the throat.
They are already shooting and killing conservative with support from democrat politicians. The middle ground is gone.
He must be ramping up for the 2028 Presidential primary. Repukes fight harder against their own party members, than they do against the RATS.
The Commission's prohibition against the broadcast of hoaxes is set forth at Section 73.1217 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. § 73.1217. This rule prohibits broadcast licensees or permittees from broadcasting false information concerning a crime or a catastrophe if: the licensee knows this information is false; it is foreseeable that broadcast of the information will cause substantial public harm; and broadcast of the information does in fact directly cause substantial public harm.
Rather than bitch about the fcc why not change the rule. Surely there is some governing body capable of changing rules created by federal agencies.
