ASHLAND, Ohio (WJW) – Ashland County Sheriff Kurt Schneider said an investigation is underway after buttons that contained comments about President Trump, such as “Is he dead yet” and “One day, we will wake up to his obituary” were on display at the “Ashland County Democrats” booth at the Ashland County Fair on Thursday.
“I will be contacting the U.S. Secret Service tomorrow,” Sheriff Schneider told the FOX 8 I-Team. “Violence shouldn’t be tolerated in any way, in any venue in any jurisdiction in the United States and it certainly won’t be tolerated here in Ashland County.”
According to an online post from the Ashland County Fair, the Democrat Party was asked to pack up the booth. The post said the group will not be back for the remaining of the fair week.
The I-Team reached out to the “Ashland County Democrats” and a woman answering the phone, identified herself as the “chair” of the organization, and she told us she wants to talk to her attorney before commenting.

The far-left, DemonRATS and their illegal alien invaders are obsessed with Death, Murder and Destruction. Time to wake up America. Like Detective Frank Drebin would say, “The cows are coming home to roost.”
Ashland County is about the dumbest place for them to do this. Bet it’s 90% Trump round those parts.

The left has been overwhelmed by its hate. It’s all they can think about and talk about. It’s all they have left. They’ve all become Captain Ahabs.
They should give the Ashland County democrats one warning and confiscate all the buttons. Give the nice folks distributing the insurrection materials one warning and get their ids.
Then, they should ban the Ashland County democrat party for a year until they promise no more advocation of violence! We cannot close our eyes to domestic terrorists!
The left is incompatible with civilized society. We need to blacklist and ostracize them at every turn.
In the past, or, so to speak, traditionally, peacefully passing power to the other major party was viewed as being both inevitable, and a demonstration of robustness in government at the federal level.
But, as you suggest, the donkey party has run out of gas and can no longer be trusted.
They accuse Trump of ending federal elections.
In reality, though, it is they who have clearly shamed and disqualified themselves. Much as we may be conditioned to fight against this in terms of a conclusion, it seemingly doesn’t make sense anymore for them to remain on the political “playing field” by continuing to appear on ballots for national elective office, available to be voted for by self-identified psychopaths, nihilists and anarchists among us.
Opposition must be silenced. That’s their view.

They are political speech protected by the First Amendment. As repulsive as they are the sheriff has no cause to investigate.
I’m sorry, on what grounds? Is the First Amendment only for speech we think is appropriate and that supports our politics?

Trump got between 70% and 75% all 3 times. Vance was in the same ballpark in '22.
Did folks note the four number numerical threat to Pres. Trump on some of those buttons...
But it is. Unless it is a credible threat, which would warrant a full investigation by Secret Service, FBI,and local law enforcement. Buying and wearing a button does not equal a credible threat.
