Mary, Did you Know?
Just got in.Can’t stay.Here’s a Ping.
“Panis Angelicus.”
Anything by John Phillips Souza.
Third verse of Amazing Grace.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.
The Doxology:
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below.
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
I would not have thought of “Hallelujah” without your prompting. But yes, it’s right up there. This song is particularly important because it’s not a Christmas song.
It’s a mass market song, and so reaches more people.
Here’s my favorite version. It’s by Lucy Thomas.

Whenever I start trying to learn something, I think of this song, reminding me that time is fleeting:
“Dreadful Selfish Crime” - Robert Earl Keen.

Songs can inspire in many different ways. As a pick-me-up if you are feeling low on energy, I enjoy The Colonel Bogey March from Bridge Over The River Kwai.

It inspired me to make up my mind. (except at buffets where I always take way too much food on my plate)

[Verse 1]
May the good Lord be with you
Down every road you roam
And may sunshine and happiness
Surround you when you're far from home
And may you grow to be proud
Dignified and true
And do unto others
As you'd have done to you
[Chorus]
Be courageous and be brave
And in my heart, you'll always stay
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
[Verse 2]
May good fortune be with you
May your guiding light be strong
Build a stairway to Heaven
With a prince or a vagabond
[Chorus]
And may you never love in vain
And in my heart you will remain
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
Yeah
[Verse 3]
And when you finally fly away
I'll be hoping that I served you well
For all the wisdom of a lifetime
No one can ever tell
[Chorus]
But whatever road you choose
I'm right behind you, win or lose
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
Forever young, forever young
For-Forever young, forever young
