Luigi Mangione is due for his latest court hearing in Manhattan on Tuesday — with followers camping out all night to see the accused killer who has attracted a twisted following after allegedly gunning down a healthcare CEO.
The hearing will debate if jurors can see his diary — where the Ivy League grad allegedly plotted murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione, 27, wants to block prosecutors from bringing up his notebook — where he purportedly mused about killing the “greedy” CEO to draw attention to an industry that “extracts human life force for money” — when he goes on trial for the Dec. 4, 2024 assassination in Midtown.
Cops in Altoona, Pa., discovered the red notebook, a partially 3D-printed pistol, zip ties and rolls of duct tape inside the privileged anti-capitalist’s backpack when he was nabbed after a five-day manhunt.
The suspect’s lawyers have lobbied to “suppress” the contents of the bag from being shown at trial, arguing that the Pennsylvania cops breached Mangione’s constitutional rights by searching him before getting a warrant.
But the Manhattan DA’s Office says it has the right to show jurors the screeds of a man they accuse of carrying out the twisted “act of terrorism” by executing the father of two in broad daylight on the day of UnitedHealthcare’s investor conference.
In an Oct. 22 entry, Mangione –– who grew up in a wealthy well-known Baltimore family — allegedly fantasized about the news coverage that such a murder would receive.

sorry luigi, it’s evidence. I just wish NYS had the death penalty.
Demanding little cold-blooded murderer isnt he?
I wonder what basis his lawyers are using for their argument? His motive is damaging to his defense?
Not many specifics but sounds more like throwing everything out as a defense and hoping anything sticks.
A warrant is not always needed, and the lawyers know this. I find it hard to believe the police would be unable to show both a RAS (reasonable articulated suspicion) and probable cause which would justify a warrantless search.
Oh, and I should have added exigent circumstances
NY Jury, we will be lucky if he gets convicted
About 25 Luigi hos and Luigi homos have gathered with their misspelled signs done in crayon.
“sorry luigi, it’s evidence. I just wish NYS had the death penalty.”
18USC241 does.

The only way to stop assassinations is to execute the KY ASSassins.
“searching him before getting a warrant”
That argument has to have been made a million times.
The answer to that claim would be well known.
What is it?
“with followers camping out all night to see the accused killer who has attracted a twisted following...”
Right there, an illustration of the general insanity in our country. I expect the killer of Charlie Kirk to amass a similar following of disciples. The trial will be a circus and the authorities had better be prepared for violence.
The devil is very much active and residing in the hearts and minds of millions.
If it’s visible but not noted in a warrant, it can still be used as evidence.
Luigi Mangione is a democrat, a hater a criminal... or am I repeating myself?
It has, the answer is always a review of the circumstances.
For example, if LEO’s believe the suspect can destroy evidence when they have exigent circumstances that justify his arrest and search then the evidence is not subject to the need for a warrant.
