The Metropolitan Police has called in hundreds of reinforcement officers from across the UK and is seeking to reassure Muslim Londoners ahead of Tommy Robinson’s “Unite the Kingdom” protest.
Thousands of people are expected at the far-right activist’s “free speech” rally on Saturday, while Stand Up To Racism UK has organised a counter-demonstration expected to attract a similar number.
The Met will also deal with policing several football matches, including derbies between West Ham and Tottenham and Brentford and Chelsea, while Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Fulham all play fixtures at home.
More than 1,600 officers will be deployed as part of the overall public order policing operation in the city, including 500 drafted in from other forces.
Around 1,000 officers will be responsible for the two protests taking place in central London, the force said.

Not that they would admit it, but I’ll bet the police are far more concerned about violence from the jihadi counter protestors than the Brits protesting the slashing of their civil rights, not to mention the slashing and raping of their wives and daughters. The Brits better be ready to protect themselves in case the police can’t. Or won’t.

I would have agreed with you a year or so ago. But having been born and raised there, I can tell you the powder keg of the silent majority has had enough. This rally will be MASSIVE. People from all over the UK are coming. Of course, suddenly, there’s “unscheduled train maintenance” announced....but people will get there.
Finally, they all know just how dishonest the media and their politicians are. They’re not represented. They didn’t vote for this. It’s just getting worse. To crush dissent, free speech is gone, dozens of arrests per day. Their daughters are scared of the migrants. On and on.
The recent “raise the flags” rebellion has been truly epic. Patriots raising flags everywhere, taken down in the areas conquered - only to be put back up x2. They’re FINALLY finding their feet.
Then Charlie Kirk, whom spoke and debated at the famous Oxford Union just a few weeks ago, declaring free speech in the UK was dead, is assassinated 3 days before the event. They’re going to honor him as well.
If it’s a huge flop....then I’ll agree with you - but I doubt it. If something happens to Tommy Robinson (organizer), like Charlie, it’d explode.
Yet, Stand Up To Racism UK, carries no such labels. Odd, isn’t it?
