Mexico’s ruling class is coming apart at the seams—and the panic is all about one thing: whether to finally get serious about cartel terror with U.S. help. A full-on melee broke out on the floor of Mexico’s Congress of the Union on Thursday after a debate over possible American involvement in crushing the cartels turned into shoves, swings, and a staffer getting knocked to the ground. The brawl laid bare what many on both sides of the border already know: the status quo is unsustainable, and the political left would rather throw punches than confront the criminal armies bleeding Mexico—and America—dry.
It started when Alejandro “Alito” Moreno, leader of the opposition PRI, confronted Senate president Gerardo Fernández Noroña of the ruling Morena party right after lawmakers wrapped the day by singing the national anthem. In a viral clip, Moreno grabs at Noroña’s jacket while demanding the floor. “I’m asking you to let me speak,” Moreno says repeatedly. Noroña tries to disengage: “Don’t touch me.” Instead of cooling off, things escalated. Noroña attempted to remove himself from the spat but was grabbed by Moreno, who yelled obscenities as the two men began shoving one another. An aide to Noroña stepped in and was pushed to the floor by Moreno. Before Noroña could get away, another member of the opposition took a swing at him.

reminds me of the scene from Goodfellas
“and the political left would rather throw punches than confront the criminal armies bleeding Mexico”
Most likely one and the same!
What were the spreads and where can we bet?
Sounds a bit girly.
No, these are rough, tough hombres, toxically masculine. Honest.
Too late. The sissy slapping is over.
Let’s hope that Mexico allows Trump to take out the cartels in Mexico.
How many if them are losing drug money?
Just like American democrats being gifted by cartels.
A lot of politicians in quite a few countries are paid off by cartels.
Little Bobby Garcia loves to fight so much and shoot people he needs to resign from our Senate and get his Macho Nacho butt down to Mehico where he can be a macho nacho badass.
Drop the Chalupa!!
They have let this happen for so long, many benefitting personally, in their own country. They have shown they really are ok with the cartels being active in their country.
I don’t see any evidence of any genuine moral change in them about this.
Those Pendajos don’t have the balls to stand up to the cartels.
Suspect many of those politicians are on the cartels payroll
What, and give up their income?
They were having lunch with the Frito Bandito.
PRI, Partido Revolucionaro Institucional.
How can it be both revolutionary and institutional? The cartoonist known as Rius called it the RIP.
What’s wrong with macho nachos?
