A federal judge on Tuesday night blocked President Donald Trump from firing Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook as her lawsuit challenging her termination plays out in court.

Judge Jia Cobb’s issuance of a temporary restraining order in the case came nearly two weeks after Cook sued Trump to prevent him from removing her from the central bank.

"The public interest in Federal Reserve independence weighs in favor of Cook’s reinstatement,” Cobb wrote in an opinion on her decision Tuesday.

Cobb’s order enjoins Fed Chairman Jerome Powell and the Board of Governors “from effectuating in any manner” Cook’s removal because of Trump’s order.

The Repukes let this happen. You’ll notice Trump hasn’t had anyone confirmed which means the Repukes could have done the same thing.

A judicial coup is on-going. What will the Right do to fix this long-term?

our founding fathers warned us about the tyranny of judges. So if the GOP doesn’t fix this while they can...only thing left is the 2nd amendment. I hope they don’t force us to that.

SCOTUS just let Trump fire the FTC person, this is no different unless they are reading into it a “specialness” that is not where to be found in reality.

No Republican senator, unless he wants to display himself as a traitor to the United States, should ever vote to confirm a Demonicrat-nominated judge or executive official.

The idea that an individual’s employment status is more important than the actual responsibilities of that job, and somehow shields them from termination at the discretion of their employer, in this case the federal government, is absurd on the face of it.

Nor did the judge in this case cite actual law. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 authorizes the president to remove a Fed board member "for cause."

"Each member of the Board shall hold office for a term of fourteen years from the expiration of the term of his predecessor, unless sooner removed for cause by the President."
- Federal Reserve Act, 12 U.S. Code § 242

While Cook’s lawsuit is playing out, I don’t believe she has actually returned to work at the federal office. Correct?

Donk’s knew long ago they were screwed and reasoned the courts were their only hope....and sat lots of lefty judges. Pt #1

Pt #2 : delay every Trump nomination for any and everything. (smells of desperation)

bottom line: Donk’s have typically overplayed their hand and could find lower court judges facing impeachment and removal from the bench. Odds are not great for such an unprecedentated move, but this is life or death ...

...and its Trump !

Having been fired by Trump, Lisa Cook can no longer be impartial, so shouldn’t be reseated.

Trump has hundreds of judicial bosses he reports to, who can and will tie his hands, anytime they wish. Obama and Biden had none.

Congress being weak-willed and AWOL for years have set the stage for this gross and criminal usurpation of executive branch authority by judicial activists, many of whom are not even naturalized American citizens.

The time has come for Trump to stop coloring inside the lines.

Problem is, she hasn’t even been charged, much less convicted of anything. Trump might win but it’s not the strongest case.
