OK, I was unsure given Lincoln and the founding fathers could encompass a LOT of conflicting quotes around the issue of this thread.
The problem is indeed splintering the culture; a civil society requires a cohesive shared or at least similar culture in order to maintain that civility.
We have a fractured culture where two of extreme differences are currently operating in parallel, one of which is obviously a failed culture.
It has proven impossible time and time again.
I think that the demonization of white people by the leftist politicians and the MSM is causing much of this.
