Federal authorities say 475 people were detained this week in what Homeland Security Investigations called the largest single-site enforcement operation in its history.
The raid took place Thursday at the HLGA battery plant site in southeast Georgia, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution, as part of a months-long probe into alleged unlawful employment practices and other federal crimes.
U.S. Attorney Meg Heap and Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Steve Schrank said the operation followed a judicial search warrant and focused on employers suspected of exploiting undocumented workers. Officials stressed the effort was not a "round-up" but the result of extensive evidence-gathering, interviews and court approval.

Some official in South Korea has already protested and demanded their people be looked after properly. and their human rights “are not violated”.
Didn’t they already violate OUR laws?
Who brought them here????
What’s next? Going into meat packing companies and finding a few hundred Chinese?
I was told by someone who is in a position to know that the 450+_ South Koreans that are detained are here on “Training Visas”. That is supposedly an easier Visa to get processed.
And that those people were doing more than just training-they were actually working regularly on the line.
My take on that is that it is kind of a gotcha enforcement action. And it is a bit of a distraction from getting rid of border jumping criminal aliens.
You can add 475 more jobs to today’s job numbers. This will translate to 475 new jobs for Americans.
Of course, the Administration isn’t doing this because of $$$.

I figured it was probably something like that. Perhaps that’s a more widespread practice than is commonly known, and this raid was done to set an example.
Job openings for all the International Paper folks that are getting layed off in Savannah / Riceboro at end of this month.
Oh dear.
Set an example and arrest all of those in the company who were responsible for hiring them all.
YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
I think the company had been given tax incentives for hiring local Americans. And they padded the roster.

Yeah, the money that should have gone to 475 Americans. You got a problem with that?
Deporting the illegals is all well and good, provided that sufficient care is taken to prove that they are illegal.
But what about the employers that hire them?
Well NOW we need to jail and fine the managers of the site as well as the corporation, after pulling visas then deporting the lot.
Here's hoping they have a Good Hyundai day.
WINNING!
MORE ICE PLEASE!!!!
Americans who will demand two Marijuana breaks per shift...
Perhaps. Nevertheless, Americans have a right to expect American jobs to go to Americans.
How about onto our front lawns for millions and millions of Mexicans? Our restaurant kitchens for millions more? Construction sites for millions more?
