Austin pulls a Cracker Barrel with disastrous logo rebrand that took seven years and cost $1 million

Austin has introduced a new logo that took seven years to design, and the fallout could be worse than Cracker Barrel's disastrous rebrand because Austin's was funded by tax dollars.

Taxpayers in the Texas capital are outraged after learning their leaders spent over a $1 million on a new city brand all while warning they will ask for higher taxes in November.

Residents blasted city hall after it rolled out its new moniker after it was approved in 2018 and spending a staggering $1.1 million for a green and blue letter 'A.'

'Is it just me or does Austin’s new logo make it look like a credit union? This is fugly,' tweeted one local business owner.

'It’s revealed...Austin flushed $1 million down the toilet just to create a crappy city logo nobody asked for,' tweeted another.

Local attorney Adam Loewy went so far as to call on the city to 'pull a Cracker Barrel' and abandon the new design, he told DailyMail.com.

The restaurant chain known for its southern cooking and old-time vibes faced public pushback recently after it removed its famous old man from its logo, announcing just days later it would return to its original branding.

'I have rarely seen Republicans and Democrats united on any issue quite like this, but there is outright commendation of this logo because the logo stinks,' Loewy blasted online.

'This is a logo that could have been created for $200 or for free on Chat GPT. The idea that taxpayers spent $1.1 million for the creation of this logo is such a fleecing of the taxpayer and there should be answers to that.'

The same city wants a 20% tax increase. A special election is needed because it exceeds the maximum tax increase allowed by state law.

It’s good to see they have solved the traffic and housing problems.

It looks like something you’d see on the side of a bus or train.

It wasn’t wasted money from the city’s point of view, I’m sure the mayor’s brother-in-law or someone like that designed it.

Austin definitely had to get rid of the cross to be faithful to its ideology.

Yup, it was all about getting rid of the Cross. It probably seared the eyes of every liberal in Austin just like a bunch of vampires.

Austin is a left-leaning city. What was that one plank in the Current Communist Goals (1963)? Promote and create art that is ugly and meaningless?

Apparently the A now stands for the a$$holes in Austin’s governemnt.

Or A may stand for Another million we’ll raise your taxes by, after flushing the first million down the toilet.
