Overview
Overall inflation in the United States has eased. Headline CPI increased at a 1.9 percent annualized rate from January through July. Under the hood, there has been a shift in relative prices. Core goods (which exclude food and energy) inflation has risen modestly, which has been more than offset by a decline in services inflation. Some commentators have been quick to attribute the increase in goods inflation to trade policy. However, placing the increase in an international context highlights the following facts:
Foreshadowing a pittance for the Social Security COLA.
Bad for my pocket. Good for the young uns.
Powell still not gonna lower rates. Because jobs or some other lame excuse.
I figured out Social Security as a scam when I first learned about it.
All it is, is a way for Democrats to get elected.
I live on my retirement and investments.
Stuff I earned.
I get Social security. It does make my old age
better and allows me to decide where to direct
my Charity contributions.
Not everybody is so fortunate as me and my wife.
But giving MY and OUR social security monies to
illegals is absolutely insane as is the people
that support it.
I’m too old to shoot the idiots robbing our people,
but I certainly support a younger generation
rising up against you Democrats!
I don’t believe the inflation numbers for a second. Not under Trump, and not under Biden.
“Bad for my pocket. Good for the young uns.”
Yep - and I’ll take the hit if my kids/grandkids/great grandkids have a better go of it.
We planned so we should be OK even if we reach the age of 95, but after that, we’d be up a creek....I doubt we have to worry about getting that old though.
