VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach Police Benevolent Association (VBPBA) is distancing itself from its statewide counterpart and publicly endorsing a slate of Republican candidates, including Winsome Earle-Sears for governor.
In a post on X Friday morning, the local association said it was not affiliated with the Virginia Police Benevolent Association (VAPBA) and wanted to “clear up a misconception that occurs often, especially during election year.”
“We represent Virginia Beach law enforcement professionals only, and make no claim to other jurisdictions,” the statement read. “Any information, including political endorsements, coming from the [state or Southern States PBA] are not reflective of the Virginia Beach PBA, and vice versa.”
The Virginia Beach branch formally endorsed Earle-Sears for governor, John Reid for lieutenant governor, Jason Miyares for attorney general, Colin Stolle for Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney, and Rocky Holcomb for Virginia Beach sheriff.

The Virginia Beach PBA’s statement, however, underscored the independence of the local chapter and its support for the Republican ticket heading into November’s election.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4.

Thank you Virginia Beach Police Benevolent Association! I would have commented at site but there was no comment section
Any police association supporting a leftist POS anywhere is not a police organization it’s a disguised social organization.
The fact that they waited this long is troubling.
The Commonwealth’s association endorsed the Democrat for one reason: Get a law to mandate union membership. It’s been the calling card of unions in order to get union due money into Democrat coffers to increase the power of Washington DC at the expense of the rest of state.
