I doubt that would work for any of those entities - they are culturally distinct.
If they were to join the Union (which I find this source dubious as the source itself admits) they would need to be distinct states and keep their local identity just as the original colonies did - their local governments would convert to being the “republican” governments required by the Constitution...they already have capital cities and Capitol buildings.

I had an assistant from Alberta--real go-getter, very smart. The thing about Western Canada is that it's very conservative and pro-American--Alberta in particular. I haven't gotten jazzed about the practicality of acquiring, say, Greenland. But this could be interesting.
