Three men have been arrested in Essex after violence erupted at the latest protest over housing asylum seekers at the Bell Hotel in Epping.
Essex Police said three men were arrested on Friday on suspicion of violent disorder, assaulting a police officer and drink driving respectively. The protest coincided with the result of a legal challenge by the government, which successfully overturned a temporary injunction which would have blocked asylum seekers from being housed at the hotel.
Despite the Court of Appeal decision, at least 13 other councils are considering pressing ahead with legal action over the use of asylum hotels in their areas, according to The Times.

What looks like a political fight in Britain over immigration, asylum hotels, grooming gangs, and free speech is really a deeper cultural and religious conflict involving three factions.
The first are devout Muslims, who act with conviction, seeing expansion as a duty reinforced by community solidarity and mosque teaching. The second are Britain’s liberal-secular elites, nominal heirs of a Christian culture, who cling to political correctness and appeasement rather than defending their own heritage. The third are ordinary citizens, who feel abandoned by those elites and increasingly resentful of a system that protects everyone but them.
Islam advances by assertion. Britain’s elites retreat by appeasement. And the citizens, sensing betrayal from above, are beginning to rise in defiance, much as Churchill once rose against Chamberlain. That spirit of resistance, born from frustration with leaders who will not defend the nation’s culture, lies at the heart of Britain’s looming civil conflict.
Perfidious Albion.
There was a reason for the revolution.
“ drink driving”
Are lager louts still a thing there? I’d hate it if the future of my country depended on drunken soccer hooligans.
