The 26-year-old man accused of killing a father who’d just dropped off his 6-year-old at school in Shrewsbury on Thursday morning is facing two criminal charges, according to court records.
Snehal Ansh Srivastava is charged with armed assault with intent to murder and carrying a firearm without a license. He is set to be arraigned on those charges in Westborough District Court on Friday.
Officials confirmed Friday the charges against Srivastava are in connection with the Shrewsbury incident.
Shrewsbury police first responded to the incident shortly before 8:50 a.m. Thursday after the victim called 911 to report an altercation near Jordan Pond, Shrewsbury Police Chief Kevin Anderson said during a Thursday-afternoon press conference.
Authorities later learned that the victim had just walked his child to a nearby school when he confronted the suspect, who was spray-painting something near the pond, Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. said during the press conference. The victim then took a picture of the suspect, and this sparked a fight between the two men.
While police were on their way to the scene, the dispatcher — who was still on the call with the victim — heard gunshots over the phone, authorities said. The victim stopped responding to the dispatcher following the gunfire.

State ?
Massachusetts. And as you’d expect this story is getting almost no coverage in the Boston press.
I was reading “Shrewsbury” and thinking, “That cannot be in MA…I haven’t heard anything about this!”
Shrewsbury had been nicknamed “snoozebury” for years because it is such a bedroom community. This state is turning into crazy town.
.
yes, sloppy reporting.
Well, what would anyone expect...

It used to be a quiet little suburb of Worcester until the H-1b workers came.
If only Massachusetts had gun control.
