Concealed carry reciprocity: a conscious choice?
American Thinker ^ | Mike McDaniel

Posted on 08/27/2025 5:20:21 AM PDT by skimbell

If driver’s licenses are universally honored and so are marriage licenses, as are a great many other licenses and legal documents, why shouldn’t a document upholding an express, unalienable, constitutional right be so honored?

These are rights that government shall not infringe or usurp. All 50 states should be constitutional carry…at the very least, all licenses to carry should be recognized by every state.

The real issue is that Democrats in general do not recognize the right of self defense using firearms, let alone defense of property.

I’d be curious to know how many CCW holders are actually arrested and charged in states that don’t have a reciprocal agreement with the issuing state.

Concealed carry is one piece of the matter.

The other piece we need is a nationwide freedom of self defense, both person and property.

I will not ever, I mean EVER, get a document to carry a gun. EVER!! My right to carry a gun is my right.

“ MANY get jammed up while traveling from south and west in the North-East. NJ/NY/RI/Ma..”

And then there’s the prohibition of hollow point ammunition in New Jersey. Even if I could carry there, I could get busted for having my Hornady Zombie Max ammo in my pistol.

Yes, this has got to happen, it makes carrying cross country a big problem when it should be totally legal.

I wouldn't want to test it, talk about getting caught up in BS.

A law abiding citizen should not need one in the first place.

I stopped renewing my Mississippi CCW because we are a Constitutional carry State - and the few States we visit don’t have reciprocity - so the CCW’s only benefit was that mine was with “enhanced” benefits due to my military service/training, which allowed me to carry in places regular CCWs didn’t get to carry in.. When I travel by car, I go with the Constitution and not by other State “laws”.....
