The president in recent days is leaning even further into using the National Guard as a glorified police force, visiting the troops and allowing them to be armed. He’s suggested he’s eyeing Chicago and New York next for their next deployment. On Sunday, he needled Maryland Gov. Wes Moore for Baltimore’s notorious crime statistics, hinting he could send troops there as well.
It's a sign that despite polling showing how unpopular Trump’s moves are in Washington, the president is playing to a national audience — and betting this is a battle he and the GOP can win. Over the weekend, Democratic Govs. JB Pritzker of Illinois and Kathy Hochul of New York released statements arguing that crime in their cities was down or that there’s no “emergency” requiring the National Guard. Other Democrats have glossed over voters’ concerns about public safety, deriding Trump as an “authoritarian.”

Crime is a BIG issue with voters, as is the border. It’s easily a 80/20 issue (it should be 100/0). If the Dems support open borders and support crime, I seriously think we might be able to pull off the midterms if we run a good campaign. Lord knows they’ve given us ample material for ads.

But these Democrats, to the extent they care about public opinion, have to make the case that crime is not bad in their cities.
They have to make the case that it’s not bad enough for Trump to intervene.
I mean, I think it might be a tough sell, at least as far as public opinion goes. People who live in these cities know what the crime situation is.

"Democrats support criminals and their crimes." What a marvelous campaign strategy and part platform plank. Why,it's almost as fine a stance as the UK Labour Party and / or France's En Marche.
They’re really stuck between a rock and a hard place. Back in the day members of one party could support members of the other party. But that world is long gone. Both parties are responsible, but the D’s turned it into a hard MO. Trump could say the sky is blue and they’d fight him on it, tooth and nail.
The last true bipartisanship I saw was when Clinton signed the welfare reform act.

I also wanted to say, people in these cities would like to see action taken against criminals. The Democrats have to make the case that legally speaking it is not a state of emergency in these cities. And so, since they have not declared a state of emergency in their city, Trump should not be taking any action.
I don’t think most people care about about what level of government or who is making decisions to fight crime in their cities. Are they really going to rally behind Mayor Johnson in crime ridden Chicago and say, yes, he’s our guy, he should fight against Trump.Etc?
Throw them a curve. Just say he would have lost to Bernie in ‘16. That will get them to double down + their crazies will go bipolar.

Trump’s crime policy in DC is only unpopular with white libs who suffer from TDS. Ask the people who live there and deal with the out-of-control crime daily. Trump made the right move, and once again, the Dems are on the wrong side of a 90/10 issue.

The Marxian woke ideology this group espouses, and worse, BELIEVES IN, holds that the Law and Law Enforcement are products of a male White Supremacist culture predominant in the US and the Western world in general. Destroying that culture is their entire program, and normalizing high crime levels is one means to that end.
Democrats must choose either their Marxist woke ideology, or opposing crime. They can’t have both. Trump is crashing the Dem house of cards. Since the Dems have no way out of this box, riots and spasms of ultraviolence seem likely.

Obama was embarrassed that 1/3rd of black youth were in jail. Mass incarceration exposed the collapse of the black family was caused by leftist welfare policies. Not surprisingly Marxist Democrats theorized that black criminals, aka black teenagers, were victims of the white racist, capitalist justice system. Obama implemented policies to break the school to prison lifeline. Obama cooked up fake restorative justice and diversion programs. Soros paid DAs followed. In practical terms Obama gave blacks a get out of jail free card to reoffend over and over again. Obama.
