Are any of these “retaliatory tariffs” ones that existed before we imposed tariffs on them?

Seriously, what do they export? Maple syrup?

Cold fronts? They’re free.

Some Canadian tariffs on US dairy products are over 250%. I would think the Canadian people would like to see these reduced as it would lower dairy prices for them significantly. In 2023, there were 12,189 dairy farms in Canada. So, 41,288,599 Canadians are paying much higher prices for dairy products to support fewer than 12,000 farmers. Seems to me that the public good would be better served by removing US import tariffs on dairy products.

Weyerhaeuser and Lear (two different tariff-sensitive plays) are both up over 4% since opening.

They have been exporting extensive amounts of wildfire smoke for several years. My eyes are always burning because of it.
Friggen hosers, eh?

Stocks in general are up big today (S&P 500 up 1.5%) after Powell finally indicated he might be willing to lower rates this year, but 4% increase shows something else is in play.

Seriously, what do they export?

It's tariffs they impose on US goods.

Trump’s tariffs on imports from other democracies are mainly to counter their application of their VATs on our goods which act like a tariff given that we don’t have a VAT. Ursala van der Leyen and the EU figured this out. Hence, we got a deal with the EU.

Hookers and hockey players, more so than maple syrup.

...and, lots and lots of jobs, due to excessive gubmint spending and excessive rules and political correctness.

People with medical problems - look in the parking lot of any clinic or hospital within 100 miles of the border.

Wildfire smoke. Lots of it. Never seen a worse year for that disgusting polluting crap that comes from Canada. They don’t even try to control those fires, just let them burn uncontrolled. Lazy bums.
