Putin does not support peace negotiations, and he proves it on a daily basis. Anyone that believes Putin wants peace is delusional and ends up supporting Putin by denying that basic fact or truth.

Support of a bully and an aggressor and a warmonger, does not deserve the basic freedoms and protections of democracies. Do you think a criminal deserves the protections of a democracy? Putin does not support peace, unless he gets peace his way, and that is by getting Ukraine as part of the deal. That is NOT PEACE because it would keep Ukraine still trying to fight off the Russians and Putin still attacking until he does away with the Ukrainians resistance.

Until Putin is booted out of Ukraine and until he decides that Ukraine is out of the question, Ukraine will be at war and so will the NATO countries which want Putin out of Ukraine and also stops acting aggressively.

The Ukrainians were at peace. Then Putin sent in his military in an invasion. Peace was broken. The Ukrainians did not break that peace; Putin did. If Putin really wanted peace, he would not have invaded in the first place. Putin has not accomplished what he set out ot do, and so, he doesn't want peace until he does get the job done.

The U.S. is contributing to the Ukrainians, but the Eurpeans are already in there, perhaps not with troops on the ground, but with equipment, armaments and drones and missiles, and even war planes, And they've had to increase their military budgets to handle any threats.

And, whether you want to believe it or not, NATO countries by themselves. In fact, Russia is no match for their collective defense structure.
