Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov wore a CCCP sweatshirt as he arrived in Alaska for the summit with President Trump. That is the Russian acronym for the USSR. Serhii Plokhy, a professor of history at Harvard University, explains how the shirt fits into Russia's position on Ukraine and in the world.

It's a part of the country's history, just like the Confederacy and the flag they fought under. Both irritate the hell out of some people. Me? I could give two shits about either of them. He's a Russian, and entitled to wear what he wants. And those who want to wear the battle flag of the Confederacy have the right to do so.
Just remember how liberals went berserk when they saw the Gadsden "Don't tread on me" flag, which is also a part of this country's history. I prefer getting pissed at the illegals here who wave the flag of the country they claimed they escaped from for a better life in this country.

I am old enough to remember men who occasionally wore their Confederate Uniforms in parades..., LONG AFTER the "War between the States" as they called it!

That’s odd.
I thought the losing team sent their “world champion” apparel to impoverished nations.
This is like Mahomes wearing a Chiefs - Super Bowl LIX Champions sweatshirt.

By every metric Russia has shrunk compared to other nations in terms of population, GDP, influence.
They once had potential with Peter the Great, now they have Putin the midget.

“”””Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov wore a CCCP sweatshirt as he arrived in Alaska for the summit with President Trump.””””
This was done as part of the official messaging of Russia’s leader for life and ruler for the last 25 years, people can argue about what it means but it isn’t a tourist shirt and it isn’t some old vet in a local parade.

One reason, no natural defenses to protect Moscow and St. Petersburg (other than the Russian winter).

Trump should wear the stars and bars cap.

The Soviet Union is not party to this US/UK v Russia war.
A big reason for this conflict is that MORONS can’t tell the difference.
Check a current map to see who is getting their asses kicked.
