Thousands of devotees gathered in Mississauga, part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), on Sunday to witness the grand unveiling of the tallest Lord Ram idol in North America. Standing at 51 feet high (not including the pedestal and future umbrella structure), this awe-inspiring statue now graces the Hindu Heritage Center, becoming one of the newest and most unique cultural landmarks in the region.

All About The New Lord Ram Statue In Canada

Inaugurated with flower petals, mantras, and heartfelt community support, the statue, located in Ontario’s Hindu Heritage Centre, was inspired by the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya. It was built over four years, crafted in Delhi using fibreglass and a strong steel superstructure, and is designed to withstand strong Canadian winters and winds up to 200 km/hr. Acharya Surinder Sharma Shastri, founder of the Hindu Heritage Center, called the statue “a spiritual gift to the community”.

The only question is how many people it takes out when it tips over. Or a couple guys get electrocuted moving it. Indians have a long standing tradition of lethal religious icon mishaps.

A couple years ago, I was stopped at a traffic light behind a truck like that ... they had built a cage in the bed, and there was a male sheep in the cage.

I thought it was funny ...

Why should anyone fall to the ground in adoration of a piece of carved stone. It cannot speak or walk.
Jeremiah 2:27
27say to a tree, ‘You are my father,’ and to a stone, ‘You gave me birth.’ For they have turned their backs to Me and not their faces, yet in the time of trouble they beg, ‘Rise up and save us!’
