Last-ditch effort to reach deal with Hamas before Gaza conquest
Arutz Sheva ^ | 9/8/25

US envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff met Saturday in Ibiza, Spain, with Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani to discuss a plan for ending the war in exchange for the release of all hostages held by the Hamas terror group.

According to the report, the developing proposal includes a full Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the release of all hostages, the disarmament of terrorist organizations, the expulsion of senior Hamas officials abroad, and the establishment of a professional government under the supervision of a police force.

An Israeli official familiar with the deals of the negotiations stated that while it is possible for the US and Israel to reach a plan to end the war, such a plan would not be acceptable to Hamas and therefore would be meaningless.

"Our war is with Hamas, not with the US," the official explained, according to Channel 12 News. "The gap between us and Hamas regarding the end of the war is vast, and therefore discussions about a comprehensive deal are futile at this stage."

Last week, during Witkoff's visit to Israel, he stated that Hamas is prepared to disarm as part of a ceasefire agreement.

In response, Hamas issued a statement denying Witkoff’s claim and emphasizing that “the resistance and its weapons are a national and legal obligation as long as the occupation continues.”

If they're willing to come to Spain and "Negotiate," they can be stuffed into a bag and transported somewhere to be held as hostages. Turnabout is fair play.

as long as the occupation continues.”
***********************************
The only party occupying Gaza presently (without much success) is Hamas. But they are not calling for a withdrawal from Gaza, they are calling for the destruction of Israel, period.

The United Arab Republic ruled Gaza from 1948 to 1959, when it was turned over to Egyptian control. Egypt lost it along with a lot of other territory following the 1967.

When peace was declared between Egypt and Israel, Egypt refused to take it back. Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in 2005. The occupants of Gaze elected Hamas as their governing body. At that point in time they could have declared themselves “Palestine”. They didn’t because they still want the total destruction of Israel, and Muslim occupation of all Israeli territory.

During the twenty years of Hamas rule in Gaza, they turned Gaza into a armed fortress above and below its surface, and have continually launched attacks against Israel.

The horrendous attack on October 7th, 2023 was the final straw for Israel. Thus we see the imminent demise of Hamas, and even other Muslim nations telling them to disarm and relinquish power.

The only condition to even participate in negotiations is immediate release of the hostages, and Israel should just lay it down that way -- unless the hostages are immediately released, Israel will continue its campaign until Hamas no longer exists, then will annex Gaza. Any Hamas-holes that flee to other countries will be systematically hunted down and killed.

Start hunting them down immediately after they refuse. In the interest of diplomatic protocol, give them a five minute head start, and then lay for them at the airport.

It’s time to jerk a very tight knot into the Qatari government.

I guess the IDF is tired of playing whack-a-mole and will do what they can to try to finish off Hamas. The only problem is that 99% of Palies back what Hamas is doing, so they will just raise up a new generation and then they’ll be back at in in the next 20 years.

Hamas can take their followers and be given a slice of Somalia, where they would be just another warring tribe. Or they can suffer the fate of the Nazi Werewolves after World War II was concluded.

If Somalia doesn't like this solution, they can take back their refugees from all over the world and we'll come up with another place to resettle Hamas.

They played a stupid game on October 7; they win a stupid prize.

I have a softer heart than you. Execute one Hamas leader for each dead kidnap victim or murdered civilian. Then take the rest of the residents of Gaza, make the Russians and Ukrainians withdraw 20 miles from current front lines, and settle the Gazans in that 40 mile wide strip. End two wars at the same time.

I like your solution better but would only give them a 12 mile wide strip. It would still be bigger than Gaza.

I see two things with the proposed solutions to this conflict:
1) A war is over when one side stops fighting. Either they have lost the ability to fight or the will to fight. Hopefully both. I see no attempt to remove Hamas’/Gazan’s will to fight in any of the solutions. Their will to fight has not been dampened in thousands of years, why would it be now?
2) Hamas created a market and economy for hostages. They are the supplier of hostages and Israel is the buyer. Why does anyone thing that once all the hostages are released that Hamas will not just go get more? A small midnight raid into Israel, snag 3-4 new hostages and BANG they’re back in business.

Even better, let the host regimes know they have one chance to arrest the a-holes and turn them over to Israel, and that refusal to do so will be considered an act of war, because that's exactly what it is.

It might have been 99% of Gazans at some point, but that’s no longer the case. I won’t hazard a guess at the true statistic, but too much has changed now.

Ceasefire will be contingent upon 4 Print making a clearly legible, full font size name tag for him.

4 certain.

They are all pretty much brainwashed from practically birth to hate Jews and want to destroy all Jews around the world and destroy Israel. At a certain point a certain percentage sign up to actually engage Jews in battle.

This current war is just one a long series of battles of jihads against the Jews. The Muslims consider it a win if they haven’t been killed and destroyed because they can live another day to try again. That’s all they live for. Until that cycle is somehow broken, this will go on ad infinitum.

The canvas bag looks okay but the colorful pens have to be 10 inches long to add the name and the insulated beverage bottles reach once all around to read the guy’s name.
