According to former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, he has had no contact with President Donald Trump since just after last summer’s assassination attempt, when he recalls leaving Trump a message.
“I can’t remember the last time I spoke to President Trump,” he told reporters Thursday.
That would contradict a report in The New York Times on Wednesday that said the two had spoken in recent weeks about the mayor’s race. Cuomo called the report “false.”

Cuomo announced a plan for free transit fares for low-income New Yorkers, criticizing Zohran Mamdani’s across-the-board free bus plan He responded to the NYT story following a news conference on his affordability agenda, where he announced a plan for free subway and bus fares for the lowest-income New Yorkers. Cuomo said Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani’s plan for across-the-board free buses effectively subsidizes the rich.
Facing questions about his relationship with Trump, Cuomo highlighted their many past battles.
“I would not seek his endorsement,” he said. “I wouldn’t accept his endorsement.”
But he also suggested they could work in partnership.
“I would try to work with the President where we could,” Cuomo said. “He’s the president. We need the federal government. There’s a lot of good things he can do for the city.”
Earlier in the day, Mamdani used NYT report to suggest Cuomo was working in tandem with Trump to subvert the will of the city’s voters.
“The job of mayor is not to audition to be the jester for a want-to-be king,” Mamdani said at a news conference outside 26 Federal Plaza in Lower Manhattan. “It is to be the person that stands up for the values of this city.”
Mayor Eric Adams chose not to weigh in on the matter, but said he and Trump haven’t discussed the race.
“Whenever I speak with the president, I speak with the president about city resources,” Adams said. “That’s what I talk [to] the president about.”
It’s unclear which candidate Trump might prefer.
Cuomo said Mamdani could prove a useful tool to Trump — an emblem of the Democrats’ extremism and an excuse for Trump to exert authority over the city.
Mamdani pointed to Cuomo, Adams and Republican Curtis Sliwa as Trump’s likely favorites.
“Donald Trump functionally has three candidates in this race: one that he is directly conspiring with, another that he has bailed out of legal trouble and functionally controls, and the third who is quite literally a member of the Republican party,” Mamdani said.

Trump gave the city of New York a Navy surgical mobile unit the Mercy which was moored in the Hudson dummy staffed and equipped. It went empty of people passing it on the west side highway to return to their nursing homes where they died. Trump also federally supported the Javits center in midtown to operate as a hospital. As this Governor Cuomo whined that Trump wasn’t assisting New York.
He then got removed from the governors office on a pretense that he was too schmoozy as if he hadn’t been that way since the 7th grade because he made the NY government liable for all of those painful lonely senseless deaths
And we are supposed to buy this stunt of his, feeding the paper with a phony story that he can deny. The headline looks like he snubbed Trump

Next mayor of NYC is not going to be Cuomo
I would assume that they’ll want to vote for Eric Adams. He may be corrupt and incompetent but at least he’s not a communist and he wasn’t responsible for what happened with covid (Cuomo).
Really? I was under the impression that no one has ever been held liable for this, and it's never even been publicly acknowledged.
Also, Trump said Cuomo handled COVID better than DeSantis.

Cuomo: Trump didn’t call me. I thought it might be Trump but it was somebody telling me I should give them my bank account numbers and PIN to clear up an urgent problem from the IRS. I gave it to them.

NYC is basically democrat, so since Cuomo lost the primary, they don’t want him. I think z man jrs. people got the Times to report this story to finish Cuomo.
