I remember that “ Government Cheese” from the 1950s. We were eligible, but my dad would not allow it. The Churches handed it out then and the woman next door used to get it. DC has some of the worst housing projects. Where everyone’s on welfare and everyone’s into crime or some other vice. The best thing to do would be to bulldoze the projects and move those people out of DC. Where they’d go is another problem, but it needs to be solved or at least half of DC is doomed to remain a sewer.
