President Trump on Tuesday afternoon threating to federalize DC over out-of-control crime.
“Crime in Washington, D.C., is totally out of control. Local “youths” and gang members, some only 14, 15, and 16-years-old, are randomly attacking, mugging, maiming, and shooting innocent Citizens, at the same time knowing that they will be almost immediately released. They are not afraid of Law Enforcement because they know nothing ever happens to them, but it’s going to happen now!
The Law in D.C. must be changed to prosecute these “minors” as adults, and lock them up for a long time, starting at age 14. The most recent victim was beaten mercilessly by local thugs. Washington, D.C., must be safe, clean, and beautiful for all Americans and, importantly, for the World to see. If D.C. doesn’t get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City, and run this City how it should be run, and put criminals on notice that they’re not going to get away with it anymore.

WUSA9 reported that crime in DC has ‘dropped’ in 2025; however, the Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies for minors are creating huge problems.
Juvenile crime is a huge problem in DC.
Juveniles are now disproportionately involved in carjackings and robbery.
Last month a curfew was enacted to curb juvenile crime, but DC Metro Police reports minors under the age of 18 are responsible for nearly 50% of the carjackings.

Two homeboys I remember from the old Fifth Precinct were Epluribus Thomas and Yogi Leonardo Washington. Sadly, only Yogi lived long enough to see the inside of a penitentiary.
Hurry, arrest them so a DC judge can immediately let them back out again. And that’s exactly what would happen.

I fly into dc about 4 times per year. I see the thugs of all ages smoking weed and looking for trouble in quite a few parts of the city.

Cutting the rate of violent crime would be easy in Washington D.C.; with some effort the violent crime rate could be cut by 60 percent in four weeks.

DC is a “city state”, much as the Vatican and City of London are. So, this is a great step towards repealing the District of Columbia Organic Act of 1871.
