Hamas has been defeated. Why don’t they surrender in order to save the Palestinians, or why cannot they be totally crushed? The interview never answers this question.
It is totally artificial that this war cannot be allowed to end.
It took the deaths of 8m Germans, 12% of the prewar population, and 4x Germany’s WW1 casualties, to kill its appetite for martial glory. Arabs are far less stolid in their capacity to take losses, but there are 500m of them. Even if we assume Palestinians aren’t merely Arabs, but a thing in and of themselves, there are 5m of them. 12% is 600K. Given the caterwauling - in just Israel, never mind the world - over 60K, Israel will never get to 600K dead Palestinians, just on the strength of domestic opposition. All it can hope for isn’t German-style submission, but an armed truce.
It won’t. Jihad means never-ending war until Islam is established worldwide. That will never happen but the struggle continues. Christ is victorious, much to the befuddlement of the phony religion and its adherents.
Israel has figured this out. Europe has not.
Both in the US, and Gaza... and the world there is a tendency for rival factions to take violent action for the rival group to appear to be humanitarian...and for the rival group to make friends with the populace.
Thus Hamas does not want anti-Hamas groups, both Israel and others, to get credit for Humanitarian actions, nor to soften the Palestinian civilian image of the enemy.
Hamas is not unique in this.
Remember, the Islamists in Gaza repeatedly have said they will defeat Israel because the Islamists love death, while Jews and Christians love life.
To them, the caterwauling about dead children and “civilians” is just a tactic.
To be fair, Aguilar’s account is disputed, in another real clear column. I’m not following it, but here it is, video on FOX:
The whole October 7th atrocity began before O7 when Biden was trying to overthrow Netanyahu.
Mass protests in Israel the country split down the middle over judicial reform being pushed by Netanyahu, opposed by Biden and others talking “democracy”.
October 7th took away the threat to Mr. Netanyahu politically and he is resisting an official state inquiry into why O7 happened in the first place.
Hamas is as embedded into the civilian population as the Boers in South Africa were embedded to the Kommandoes who fought the British in the Boer War.
This GHF scheme to lure the civilian population into supporting Israel or else starve.
Not a nice situation people are dying one way or another.
