Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican.
A viral post on X by the user @time222smoke first claimed that the actor was a registered member of the party. According to publicly available voter registration records that BuzzFeed viewed, Sydney has been registered to the Republican Party of Florida since June 2024.
The news comes after Sydney faced backlash for her "great jeans" American Eagle ad, in which she said, "Genes are passed down from parent to offspring, often determining traits like eye color, personality, and even hair color. My jeans are blue."

Anyhow, not really a surprise. The cool kids are all coming out as Republicans these days.
Rules, of course.
All American Eagle has to do to end this controvesy is have Beyonce make an identical ad, in black jeans, and then say “I have black jeans” and then say the exact same thing. “Beyonce has great jeans”
Controversy sells jeans.
I don’t think it’s fair to Sydney to have this published - if it wasn’t with her consent. Not to say it will automatically jeopardize her career, but still. She is still young, and shouldn’t be blocked from acting roles due to politics.

I’m glad she is smart enough to choose the same party as me, but I doubt that yahoo thinks it’s a good thing. I believe they think it’s proof that the ad is nazi propaganda.

Lots of Sydney in denim.
I have a good friend whose daughter is smart as a whip. She put herself through private college by working at Hooters.
Her reasoning? ‘Mom! I’m ONLY going to look like this for a short time in my life. I’m cashing in!’
And she got her accounting degree from a prestigious college WITH NO DEBT and has pretty much written her own ticket with employers ever since.
And then she got married, and then she had a baby and then there were complications and now she is the proud owner of a colostomy bag for the rest of her life. :(
