Donald Trump, the US president, is preparing “shock and awe” sanctions on Russian exports, a senior Republican has said. Senator Jim Risch, the chairman of the powerful Senate foreign relations committee, said Mr Trump would make good on his pledge to impose crippling economic penalties on Moscow’s trading partners by Aug 8. The US president this week shortened his deadline for hitting Russia with the most severe sanctions on its oil experts to date, giving Vladimir Putin 10 days to reach a deal to end the war in Ukraine. “When and if secondary sanctions hit, it’s going to be shock and awe,” Senator Risch told The Telegraph, adding that “things are going to change dramatically” as a result.

“I have just been informed that almost 20,000 Russian soldiers died this month in the ridiculous War with Ukraine. Russia has lost 112,500 soldiers since the beginning of the year,” he said, describing the tally as a “lot of unnecessary death”.
Ukraine, he added, had lost 8,000 soldiers since the start of the year, adding that there had also been civilian casualties as Russian rockets crashed into Kyiv and other parts of the country.

Interesting, and not surprising.
Ukraine has been methodically ravaging Russia’s military assets far behind the frontlines, while the media focused their reporting on a few small Ukrainian villages temporarily taken by Russia. These may look like minor successes for Russia… but hardly anyone is reporting on Russia’s own defenses — which are being smashed to pieces. Soon, Russia will be exposed. It’s poured everything into offense and invasion, while neglecting its own defense. Bad move.
Ukraine is now scoring incredible wins against the Russian war machine, and things are getting better by the day. And now that Trump has become a full-blown anti-Russian force, the horizon is brightening for the Ukrainian people.
Thanks for the heads-up about Ukraine hitting those Russian oil refineries tonight — I had missed that one.

Take some time to read Vlad’s recent speech, Russia has gotten much stronger with Sanctions, GDP up, now self sufficient, and sitting on $75 trillion in natural resources, which the world needs.
….and still raking in $$$ billions while the West goes into more debt and bankruptcy….a child with a calculator can see how this ends.
Sorry if it bugs you, I was just responding to a post. But it will get interesting if Trump starts trying to blockade India and China...might even piss off those countries.
