A Long Beach man was sentenced to centuries in prison on Thursday for murdering a 17-year-old high school senior and trying to shoot four other teens weeks later.
Troy Lamar Fox, 34, was sentenced to 358 years to life in prison for killing Briana Soto “just steps from her Long Beach home in March 2024,” as well as an April 9, 2024, shooting in which he “opened fire on a car carrying four minors,” the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release.

These sentences are dumb.. 358 years to life?
A real judge would say 358 to life, since you’re gonna die in prison anyway, let’s make it tomorrow and save some taxpayer funds.
A prisoner has to serve at least 3/4 of their sentence before being eligible for parole. There’s a reason why all those years are given.

Odd. Usually, when the democrat party press corpse reports a suspect’s name using all three - first last and middle name - it is because the perp is a white or is being a labeled a “white” to emphasize he is a underclass white trash redneck racist who owns guns and supports Trump.

Oh so he’s eligible for parole after serving 268.5 years vice the full 358 years.
Think about that. Death the day he walks into prison makes more sense.
