New evidence being taken from deadly Midtown office shooting
Surveillance footage shows 27-year-old Shane Tamura entering 345 Park Avenue with an M4 rifle before shooting an NYPD officer and later killing himself. The building houses major firms including the NFL and KPMG. Police say Tamura drove from Las Vegas just days earlier. FOX 5 NY's Hayley Fixler has the latest.

* The gunman wound up in the 33rd-floor offices of Rudin Management, one of the city's largest real estate firms.
* Mayor Adams says it's likely the suspect was targeting the NFL offices on a different floor.

If he was in the wrong elevator he would have picked a floor closer to 5.
Unless his elevator went to a minimum of the 33rd floor this explanation is BS.
The article only said that the banks of elevators do not stop on every floor, no mention of a 33rd floor minimum. That would be important to their proof.
Express elevators. Cuts down on overloading during rush hour and those going to or from the upper floors don’t have to stop at every floor on the way up... or down
I don’t mean disrespect for “guards” but the ones I’ve seen at the companies I worked for had no guns, were generally well passed retirement age and not able or capable of stopping an armed intruder. They were there to check the legal entrants had badges. At Honeywell, a cuckolded husband showed up around midnight, walked into the lobby, ratcheted a round into a pump shotgun and asked the guard, “Where’s Lola?” The guard responded, “Beam 15 I.” He didn’t even lie. (Lola was on a break pounding the nasty with her paramour and missed the action. He was taken into custody by deputy sheriff’s.)
The guard at the local hospital emergency room was a roughly 250-pound older black woman. She had a gun. But my guess is the probability she could have stopped an armed intruder was close to zero. The other guards looked like they’d been recruited from the homeless shelter. There’s an inherent cost for budget friendly contracts like that one. It may not be paid today or tomorrow but it probably will be paid at some point.

I keep seeing articles say the gunman used an M-4 without recognizing that is a US military designation for a selective-fire (a true automatic with 3-round burst design) carbine on the AR-15 pattern. Due to laws dating back to Reagan, it is impossible for that to have been acquired by a civilian. It is possible the gunman had what is referred to as an M-4gery, a shortened AR-15 that looks like the actual M-4 without the automatic fire selector.
Has anybody seen a definitive article on the firearm used that goes beyond repeating earlier reports? TIA…
It would have been nearly impossible for the shooter to hear any directions to the “right” floor, with the ringing in his ears after firing an AR-15 indoors.

The gunman ended up exactly where he wanted to be, Rudin Management, a nice Jewish firm that can be blamed for the problems in Gaza. By the way, what was with the woman in handcufs beilng rushed away from the front of that building?
NYC shooter Shane Tamura built AR-15 used in deadly rampage piece-by-piece — and his boss supplied a key part: sources
“The psycho’s supervisor at the Horseshoe Casino in Las Vegas allegedly supplied the Palmetto State Armory lower receiver for the AR-15 that Tamura used to kill four people, including an NYPD cop, sources told The Post.”
Now, The only identifying component may be the lower receiver. The rest of the rifle, depending on where he got them may not have identifying marks. The lower will have the serial number.
