Congressional Democrats are not changing their economic message to appeal to red district voters this summer; they say President Donald Trump and the Republican Party have done that work for them.
Armed with talking points highlighting the cuts to health programs, social services and climate efforts in Trump’s domestic policy megabill, progressives this August recess are touring deep red and in-play GOP districts. They’ll be making the same pitch they’ve been touting for months: Republicans want to, and have already, cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans at the expense of public benefits.
“Donald Trump ran for office promising to lower costs on day one,” Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts said in an interview. “Our secret, super-duper strategy is to get out there and tell the truth … that Donald Trump has taken a bad situation and made it worse.”

Go ahead fauxchahontas and scream from your taxpayer paid job.
So many red districts are red light districts.
The old bag should get egged.
“So many red districts are red light districts.”
Which ones?
You know what. I had that backwards. I meant BLUE districts are red light district.
“Huh grocery prices seem to be lower and stable, and gas prices are down a buck a gallon in the last six months, in my area.
Awesome news, tomatoes and eggs will be cheaper. Great for hurling when democrats come through.
Gas prices where I live don’t see to have changed much in the last 8 months, same with grocery prices. Things like eggs may be a little cheaper, but in general things haven’t changed much from what I’m seeing in SE Michigan. It is what it is.
What do Republicans plan to do during the August recess? Serious question, are they going to rest on Donald Trump’s laurels? They going to go out and try to reach out, or see if they can gain ground in a district or two?
“climate efforts”
The Republicans really need to explain that “climate efforts” means TRILLIONS of dollars pissed away for ZERO good or benefit. It’s nothing but large-scale grifting and payback to Dem politicians, Dem founders of bogus “green” companies, and Dem-supporting unions.
If you want a positive, upbeat economic message for the voters, then gutting “climate efforts” is as good as it gets.
would love to see that triple chinned socialist d bag Mark Pocan make a visit outside of Dane co and safe media
In California my cousins in the Bay Area are blaming Trump for the high cost of living and prices for everything from groceries to gas are far higher than the rest of the country. It never occurred to them that maybe, just maybe it’s the Democrats they’re electing who are responsible for that mess. Who would of thought that excessive environmental regulations and paying healthcare costs and providing endless social services for illegal immigrants would eventually wreak economic havoc there? They will never learn.
“....cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans “
I wonder how many of the wealthiest Americans are getting tips.
