When you tell your physician that you have diabetes they arent so much concerned about your pancreas.
Comorbidities.
“Everyone knows” diabetes is related to insulin yet the physician starts talking about your heart when diabetes comes up. Diabetes leads to inflammation of the vessels which leads to plaque build up and heart attacks.
COPD leads to build up of heart tissue constricting some areas of the heart and sometimes the increased pressure leads to dilation of other areas that cause increasing loss of function.
There is treatment for insulin related issues and some for some issues related to shortness of breath but there isnt any cheap or easy treatment for heart damage.
The quoted statement is actually somewhat redundant because it really says she has one kind of heart disease, a different kind of heart disease, and another heart disease.
