Following the wildfires that ravaged the Los Angeles area earlier this year, Democrats and a bunch of celebrities did a fundraising event called ‘FireAid’ that brought in a ton of cash, some reports say it was almost $100 million. Yet none of the victims have seen a penny of if it.
Independent investigative journalist Sue Pascoe began looking into this and found that all of the money was apparently distributed to non-profit groups in the area, some of which have absolutely nothing to do with fire recovery.
Is there a more perfect example of liberalism than this? Rather than giving the funds directly to the people who need it most, the people behind this event gave it to charities, with little to no vetting, just trusting that the money would then somehow make it to the victims.

FireAid, a celebrity-packed concert held in January, raised an impressive $100 million for victims of the Los Angeles wildfires.
But now, six months later, residents affected by the fires are asking where exactly that money has gone.
“This ‘benefit concert’ might be one of the biggest scams in disaster fundraising history,” said independent journalist James Li on X.
Thanks to Li and Sue Pascoe, an investigative journalist for Circling The News, we now know that FireAid funds have not gone directly to residents, but instead to nonprofits selected by a charity based on the other side of the country…
As Pascoe reports, The Annenberg Foundation was tasked with managing the FireAid funds. Pascoe emailed the organization asking, “How much of the funds were spent specifically for the Palisades and which nonprofits in that community are receiving money?” But Pascoe didn’t get a reply, and no one answered when she called several of the company’s extensions.
Pascoe was finally able to connect with someone at The Annenberg Foundation and while she initially got the runaround, she was directed to Chris Wallace, the foundation’s chief communications officer.
However, when Pascoe spoke with Wallace, she was shocked to learn that the FireAid proceeds would not go to residents affected by the devastating fires. Instead, the money would be distributed to several nonprofits affiliated with the Annenberg Foundation.

Every aspect of this disaster has been mismanaged from the moment the fires started and there was no water in the fire hydrants. How Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass still have their jobs is truly a mystery.

Had to pay salaries and the overhead, nothing left as usual.
As I understand it, when you give to a celebrity foundation, they can basically keep the money. They only need to give 5% of the net revenue of the foundation each year. They then can close the foundation and pay the requisite taxes and keep the rest.
Probably should have gone to somebody other than the Clinton Foundation for operations advice...

Haitians are still scratching their heads over the aid money that was to be sent to them to rebuild but the clintoonians stole the money. With the money, they paid for an elaborate wedding for Chelsea.
Like pretty much EVERY 'charity'; They were never intended to see any of the money donated 'for them'.
You do more good for 'the needy' giving a dollar to a bum on the sidewalk than you do giving a hundred bucks to a 'charity'.... Especially one of the big name ones like Red Cross or United Way, or those run by a celebrity or a politician.
And didn’t the California legislature, newsom and bass pass a bill allowing the state to buy up all the available palisades land for pennies on the dollar for affordable housing.
Well, hasn’t Karen B-Ass promised all the county’s money to her poor slave laborers who are afraid to go to work because they have to be out in the streets burning American Flags and police cars while throwing boulders at the ICE civil servants who are out there working hard for America and Americans.
Funded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge
Barack Obama, elected by the Board of Directors as founding chairman and president of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (1995–1999), resigned as chairman and president in September 1999 to run as a candidate in the 2000 Democratic primary for the 1st Congressional District of Illinois, and was succeeded by Edward Bottum (1999–2001).

This is another 9-1-1. Remember when over a billion was raised to support families affected by 9-1-1 and the funds were given to United Way to distribute. The United Way doesn’t deal with individuals so they gave the money to whoever. A lot of the funds found their way into every seedy business in NYC.
